Giverny & Versailles in One Day - Private driving Tour

Paris: Romain G. Our two full-day tours of Paris and the surrounding area were well-led by Romain G., who guided our multi-generational group of seven adults with professionalism, patience, and thoughtful attention to our needs. He helped us experience many of the highlights of Paris, including the Louvre, while also making the longer day trips to Versailles and Monet’s house and gardens both enjoyable and manageable. His knowledge of the sites, clear explanations, and calm organization allowed us to appreciate the history, art, architecture, and beauty of each place without feeling rushed. We especially appreciated Romain’s sensitivity to the mobility concerns within our group. At every location, he located wheelchairs and adjusted the pacing and scope of our activities so that everyone could participate as fully and comfortably as possible. This attentiveness made a significant difference for our family and helped turn potentially difficult logistics into smooth and memorable days. We are pleased to highly recommend Romain as a guide who combines strong local knowledge, careful planning, gracious hospitality, and genuine care for the people he serves.

Our group included six adults aged 65 - 74 years of age. We had a great time with Romain. My wife and I used Romain in 2022 so we had knowledge of his excellence and professionalism. Romain has a very nice van that easily fit our group of six adults. The tour itself was well organized and filled our day nicely. The lunch spot that Roamin picked for us was great and right across the street from the entrance to Versailles. Highly recommend Romain.

We had an absolutely perfect day with Romain going to both Giverny and Versailles. It was our second tour with Romain during our visit, the first being a tour of the Orsay Museum. As a former teacher and parent, he was excellent with engaging my children (ages 8 and 11), making sure they could see through the crowds and appreciate the grounds. Romain was full of little insights along the way. When we got home and I turned onto a road that is a Boulevard, he exclaimed - Boulevard! I know what that is! Along our drive, Romain mentioned that a Boulevard is where an old city wall would have been. We could have not have asked for a better experience.

We are two seniors who traveled to France with our fifteen-year-old granddaughter in July 2025, and we spent a wonderful day with Romain touring Giverny and Versailles. Romain is a very personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining guide, and an excellent driver. A former teacher, he was able to hold the interest of our teenager while explaining events in history of art, culture, and politics. He is very involved in art and offered original insights into Monet and impressionism. He was equally informative on French history. Of course we encountered crowds at both sites, but Romain always succeeded in guiding us to quieter, less congested spaces for his commentary. (Mics and earphones helped quite a bit, too.). He knew locations of elevators and special entry points for the physically challenged. Thank you, Romain, for a great experience!

Romain guided our family of 7 to Monet's home in Giverny and then to Versailles. This was our second tour with Romain during our week in Paris. We are very happy that we booked twice with him - his personality and sense of humor resonated very well with the members of our group. His depth of knowledge and expertise is substantial, and he communicates his knowledge clearly. His low-key and easygoing manner made our day fun and memorable. Romain was an incredible host. When we go to Tours by Locals, this is EXACTLY what we are looking for. Someone who knows the area, loves the area, and enjoys sharing what they love about it. The private tour means we got the dedicated attention, guided directions, and wonderful overall experience. Versailles is MASSIVE. You could spend all day in there easily. But Romain knew the perfect routes and order to go through the two locations. We couldn't have been more pleased with our tour.
