I was born in Normandy, France, where I also studied. After graduating in 1981, I served in the French Army (Gendarmerie). The Château de Vincennes is located just outside the eastern gates of Paris. This important royal residence has played a significant role in French history and is the only restored medieval royal palaces. It retains walls and 14th century donjon which is the tallest in Europe. The gothic Sainte-Chapelle is an exceptional example of the Flamboyant style and took over 170 years to complete. If you want to see a real medieval palace and the seat of the French Monarchy before Louis the XIV moved the court to Versailles, visit the Château de Vincennes. To visit absolutely!
