I have been living and working in Paris for 15+ years. I love my city and love sharing its vibrant art scene with my guests. Originally, I studied Art and Philosophy at Concordia University, Montreal and received a Master 2 / Diplôme des Beaux-Arts de l'ESADHaR, Le Havre, France. As well as being a tour guide, I am a practicing artist. I spent the first years of my life in Paris, going to the museum every weekend to sketch the sculptures and paintings. I have over 15 years of experience working in the arts with artists and galleries, as an artist and curator. I started out running an artist-run center and love making the experience of interacting with art accessible and fun. The Belleville art scene is a fresh and forever renewing cultural hub in Paris. New galleries pop up, move, and are a little more tucked away from view. Knowing what's on and what is worth seeing can be an art in itself. Let me make this easy for you! Together we will explore the vibrant art scene of Belleville through it's studio spaces, galleries and it's artist. Belleville is an area for the emerging artist and smaller to medium size gallery. It is less polished than the Marias and generally a more bohemian part of town. This including its delicious caves and restaurant. Our tour of Belleville will include a visit to one of its local hangouts. A tasting and conversation over wine. Highlights will include, and vary depending on gallery schedule and current exhibitions; four to six contemporary Belleville galleries and a neighbourhood artist studios.
Naomi was super knowledgeable about the local art scene as she is an active artist in the area. She tailored a wonderful tour focusing on female artists and themes. Since I did not give her a lot of info ahead of time, she did the curation for the day. The artists were varied and presented a full spectrum of artistic interpretation. It was a great afternoon!
Great guide, a talented artist herself. Provided a tour of Belleville and Marais galleries - an experience we would never have enjoyed if left to ourselves. We were introduced and met with gallarists and artists who obviously enjoy Naomi and her knowledge of the arts. She also gave us an outstanding appreciation for the Belleville community and its history.
