This lovely day we will spend in one of the most picturesque Picardy village Auvers sur Oise, the outmost post-impressionist high place, the real cradle of Van Gogh's art style. This is the last refuge of Vn Gogh, his inspiration secret world where he spent the Last 2 months of his life. You will enjoy the world famous immortal landscapes which inspired Van Gogh, witness the working shop of the painter where he realised 72 pictures in 60 days! You will learn everything not only about his impressionists' background but also about his tubulent private life and the whole truth about his suicide.
We spent a day with Zoya in Auvers-sur-Oise. It was extraordinary. Her love for Van Gogh was very much appreciated and shared. Zoya is extremely knowledgeable about Van Gogh and our visit to his final resting place was so very moving because we were sharing the experience with one who is very passionate and compassionate about her subject. I will pick you up at 10. 00 am, during our 1 hour journey towards Auvers sur Oise rural paradise, I will give you the general background about the post impressionist style and major most important impressionist painters and Van Goghs' rivals : Paul Gaugan, Emile Bernard, Toulouse Lautrec and others and of course we are going to talk about Van Gogh himself and his unique style: who is considered like à Father of primitif style. After visiting Van Gogh's room where died in the Varoux Inn, you will stroll about the most beautiful and picturesque meadow fields immortalised by the painter and we'll make the last hommage to this great painter at the cemetry where he is buried with his brother Theo, another very important art figure. And we'll end by à lunch at the same Inn where lived the last 60 days Van Gogh ! The menu is still the same thzt used to eat the painter ! At 15. 00 we will come back to Paris.
