Pululahua Crater - Trekking Tour with Pick-up and Drop-off

Let's go inside one of the very few inhabited craters in the world, which also happens to be part of a National Park! This trip is also a perfect acclimatization tour if you are willing to do some treks in the altitude or the start of a new adventure very close to Quito. In my childhood, I used to visit this place when almost no foreign visitors did it back in the day. This impressive and massive natural wonder sits there awaiting for us! Once we walk inside the crater we actually have two options of difficulty that we can choose to go on, depending on your preference, and we can also do some birdwatching and observe the cloud forest on the slopes of the crater. This tour is normally better during the morning, as some clouds normally cover this place after 2-3 pm.

·The tour begins with a pick up from your hotel in Quito or the city's surroundings, after which we'll drive to the parking lot of the Pululahua Crater. ·Afterwards, we'll start our trek and begin enjoying this incredible scenery. (Note: Depending on the weather and of your physical condition, there is also the possibility to drive directly inside the crater and start walking from there.) ·Once we reach the base of the crater we'll walk some more distance and climb one of the two domes of this extinct volcano: Chivo or Pondoña. ·At either summit, we'd normally enjoy the panoramic views of our surroundings, and we can relax there for a while. ·Next, we'll return to the base and we can enjoy some drinks or food in one of the small shops after having achieved our goal. ·At last, we will walk back to our vehicle and drive back to Quito.
