I grew up in the middle of one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world, without much awareness of that. . . as a kid we used to travel with my family to many of these beautiful places that now I visit in my tours! At 19 I started working in tourism... that's more than three decades ago! Then I decided to make things more formal and went to university to study tourism. I then got a degree as a Tour Guide and later in Tourism Business Administration. After I studied tourism in University I started working in a travel agency, and it was nice, but some years later I decided that being in an office for hours is not as nice as being outdoors showing this beautiful country to other people! Besides that I keep practising other languages that are not my first, and getting to know new people from many different (sometimes exotic) countries every time! Doing tours and guiding foreigners has basically been how I've been living for the last years. At the present time, I guide tours in and around Ecuador as my full time job, mostly in English and German. I truly like showing my country, its landscapes, food, history, traditions, architecture and way of life to other people. All of this with humour and never in a hurry! I also pride myself on working with reduced private groups for more of a personalized experience, as well as of being very punctual when gathering with them. I like to do mountain bike and birdwatching too. A few times I have included this in my trips and has really been a plus! I possess a National Tour Guide License for Ecuador Mainland.

On this tour, we'll embark into a National Park which is rather close to the capital city of Ecuador, and allows for the opportunity to regularly see condors, hummingbirds; highland birds and wild deer! All of this while enjoy being surrounded by lots of stunning volcanic landscapes. The National Park and volcano are located on the eastern slope of the Andes, not far from our capital city! This place has also been inhabited since the Ecuadorian Stone Age, because of the old lava flows that allowed the ancient tribes to get obsidian and stones from here in order to manufacture ancient tools like arrow and spear tips, knives, etc. Although we won't be able to see old artifacts in present day, we will see the huge lava flow, where our people got the obsidian from 10000 year ago!
·Our tour will have an early start from Quito to then head eastwards until we reach a birdwatching and observation point, where we'll keep our eyes out for condors and hummingbirds. ·Here we will enjoy a typical hot tea with a herb from the area (SUNFO). ·After that, we'll drive some more meters up to Antisana National Park. ·On arrival, we'll go trekking for around an hour close to a highland lake which is located arund 4000 meters above sea level! It's an easy walk, which we'll do with no rush! ·Once we finish our hike close to the lake, we'll enjoy a fresh meal from a lunchbox and then drive back to Quito. ·On our way back, if you feel up to it, we can make one last stop at the same bird observation lookout point, to potentially come across species that we might have missed in the morning! ·At last, I'll drop you off at your hotel.
