Hi, my name is David and I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. I have a university degree in Ecology and tourism and over 16 years ago I started working as a naturalist guide in the lodges located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rain forest. However, nowadays, I guide everywhere in Ecuador! During all my years working as a guide, I have been learning more about Ecuador, not only about nature but also about the history & culture of my country and the indigenous groups that inhabited it. Due to my work I also got the chance to explore and travel to several sites and destinations inside Ecuador so I have added those special visits to my tours. I have guided groups as well as independent travelers coming from many parts of the world, which allowed me to know firsthand the needs and requirements of the different guests visiting this country. Some of my hobbies come handy with my work as a guide, and gave me a plus in my job such as: photography of fauna and nature, bird watching and trekking. Currently I am working as a TBL Tour Guide and I have been doing it since 2017 enjoying it very much. With this new situation of the pandemic I kept myself learning more about art and culture of Quito and Ecuador and I am preparing all my tours to go according to my client's requests. My tours range from City Tours of the Old Town in Quito, to day trips and circuits to the surrounding areas of Quito and around the country. From the Amazon Rainforest and through the Andes. Overview of your Quito tour
There is so much to do in Mindo that it deserves at least two days stay in its surroundings. Mindo valley is one of the best-preserved cloud forest in the western Andes and is really well know because of its diversity of birds. On this tour we have many options for visits but among the highlights we have a hummingbird garden, a butterfly farm and all the nature that we can enjoy. We can also find treks, waterfalls, ziplines, tubing, canyoning or simply admire the scenery surrounding us. I will refer you to and assist you booking one of several hotels of different types and costs. This tour price is for up to three people but if you are traveling with friends and family, I can arrange the trip up to 12 people or more. See the information below
Your Quito tour itinerary
This is an example itinerary and it can be modify according to your liking: Day 1: Depart from Quito In route to Mindo visit a reserve for the best hummingbird garden. Ride jungle zip line or cable basket out and over the jungle but only if you like. Lunch Visit a butterfly farm with hundreds of butterflies flying around you; right outside the farm you will have many species of hummingbirds around you. Marvel at hundreds of different orchids, some giant and some so miniature that you will only see them through a magnifying glass. Day 2: Trek to a waterfall while you learn the different plants and trees of the area or hike a cloud forest trail with mountain views and bird watching Lunch Visit a an amazing demonstration of chocolate production from bean to bar. Return to Quito hotel Other activities like canyoning, tubing, coffee tour, visit feeders to see birds, visit the middle of the world and the equator line can be part of the tour.
