Copenhagen is not a city defined by grand monuments and avenues. It is a compact and livable city made great by the sum of many small parts. The City's 1000 year history lives on and evolves as the Capitol of a modern society. If you want to see the City through the eyes of local, here is your chance. I am an Architect and Urban Planner with my own small practice, but I enjoy sharing the City with visitors and make time for as many tours as possible. Copenhagen is my home and one of my main interests. I like to showcase and discuss all aspects of the City, from its history to its diverse contemporary culture. I have many years of experience doing Architecture and Planning specific tours aimed at both professionals and the general public. That said, I also have extensive experience guiding about a wide spectrum of other topics and always adjust my guiding to suit the interests of a given guest or group. I guide by most modes of transport, although typically not by car. Copenhagen is a world class walkable city and has some of the best and safest bicycle infrastructure anywhere. I do both predefined and custom tours spanning anything from an hour to a couple of days. Feel free to contact me. Privately I am a father of two and live in the neighbourhood of Nørrebro. Some say I have too many bicycles, but I need them for my daily commute, for recreation and for transporting the kids. I also do cargo bike racing. - 15 years of experience as a guide for private Tour Operators, Public Institutions and Universities - Extensive experience both as a generalist and with architecture and planning focused tours - Experience guiding by foot, bicycle and boat - I have a Bachelors Degree in Architecture and a Masters Degree in Sustainable Urban Design - I teach a course on Danish Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Copenhagen - I do not drive or own a car, but can arrange transport by car if required.

Did you know that Copenhagen is one of the best cycling cities in the world? Cycling is the transport of choice for most locals and is the best way of seeing the City. Join me on a laid back ride through the Inner City and into some of the surrounding neighborhoods where local lives are lived. We will be going a bit off the beaten track, but will never be far from the city center. Most hotels have rental bikes, which is the easiest solution. I can arrange bikes and helmets if needed, let me know in advance. Expenses are not included in the price. Basic cycling skills are required.
The tour starts and ends in the Old City and includes some of the main sights. Other highlights include: - The lively neighborhood of Vesterbro with its many cultural contrasts - The Copenhagen Lakes - The neighborhood of Nørrebro where contemporary culture grows out of a long working class history - Assistens Cemetery, where locals picnic among the graves of Niels Bohr, Søren Kierkegaard and Hans Christian Andersen - The Super Wedge Park and Green Bicycle Path - If the tour is on a working weekday, we end it on a bench with a view of the bicycle rush hour. * This itinerary can be customized. Feel free to contact me.
