A Danish anthropologist and global adventurer. I provide you with a customized, personal and memorable experience in Denmark, where I am born and raised. Being a local with a long overseas experience (25 years in Asia, America and Africa) has given me the capacity to have a good feel for what makes Europe, Denmark and Copenhagen exiting for a visitor. I live in the central Østerbro neighbourhood of Copenhagen. Whenever I have some free time, I enjoy riding bicycle or hiking in the beautiful nature surrounding Copenhagen and to explore natural, cultural and historical places. I divide my time between being a tour leader to Asian countries, giving lectures about China, Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam and being a ToursByLocals guide in Copenhagen plus a few other things. I am very open to customizing tours to suit your specific interests. My aim is to give you a unique, personal and memorable experience of Copenhagen, Zealand, Southern Sweden or beyond and that each tour will be different. You can either book one of my published tours or send me a message and let me know what your interests are and I will customize a private tour matching your needs. We can go by private car, public transportation, bicycle or foot. We can explore nature or places of cultural and historical interest. Or maybe you are interested in seeing how the local people live? If you choose to go by car I will be your driver as well as I am licensed with a professional drivers license. My aim is to give you a unique, personal and memorable experience and that each tour will be different. In the itinerary below I have chosen some places to visit, sites that I have been familiar with since my childhood. Places that I continue to revisit and can highly recommend. Please contact me and we will design a tour together also taking into account opening hours at destinations. The price for this tour is based on 8 hours and up to 6 persons. If you would like a tour of more than eight hours duration I can customise a tour and send you a link. If eight hours is what you prefer you just need to make a booking here and I will following that prepare an itinerary based on your interests. I am flexible. It could also be a tour over several days including western Denmark and Sweden if you wish so.

We had a fantastic off-the-beaten-path adventure with Henrik. We had wanted to get out of Copenhagen and explore places we would never have been able to get to on our own, including the Wooden Giants, Camp Adventure, and Stevns Klint. And Henrik delivered! He organized an itinerary and met all of our expectations. As his bio states, he is not an official licensed guide. But, that was inconsequential for what we were looking for! Henrik was great--a flexible fun day! Thanks.
Henrik did an outstanding job of getting us around Copenhagen and meeting all our requests. We toured much of the downtown, had a canal cruise, and a visit to Tivoli Gardens. He clearly loves the history of the city, and we would have enjoyed spending much more time with him. He had our granddaughters laughing at some Danish terms and also found the best sandwich of our entire trip to Europe. We highly recommend Henrik.
