Hello, My name is Hrvoje Dario. I'm of the Northern Croatia, and local of Zagreb and Varazdin. I've been working as a tour guide for a number of years now, guiding to every part of Croatia, as well as other countries in the region, such as Bosnia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Austria. Beside stories and information, the four things I put the highest emphasis when guiding travelers are safety, respect, care and comfort. Travelers should always feel safe and comfortable, while being treated with care and respect. Being a traveler myself, I am well aware of the significance of a travel and the effect it has on us and those around us. In my free time I like to read, write, go to nature, visit interesting places, reading articles and books on history, psychology, anthropology, meditation, astronomy, sustainability. My travels have so far taken me across five continents; some journeys being in the Middle East, the Americas, South and Southeast Asia, North Africa, Europe etc. Beside having various other benefits, such travels have also exposed me to the work of international tour guides, which gave me insights into improving my own guiding tours. It is important to me that the travelers I guide feel relaxed and enjoy every moment of it, and to have a memorable experience. I also aim that you experience my country not just as a tourist, but rather to see how things are here, to get an understanding of its everyday life, and perhaps to even feel like a local. If you are interested in coming to Croatia and explore it with a guide, feel free to contact me. I've finished tour guide course and am licensed to guide in Varazdin and Zagreb counties as a tour guide, and all over Croatia and surrounding countries as a tour leader. I've specialized in tourism branch by finishing the Zagreb School of Management (current VERN) back in 2007.

This is a 4-hour tour covering all essential attractions of Zagreb, and also visiting sites outside the city center, in order to see more of Zagreb and the life that is taking place beyond the limits of its historical center. Zagreb has many things to offer, both in the city center and beyond, and in this tour of Zagreb I aim to present you with the complete view of it, of understanding and insights that will show you what Zagreb and its people are all about. For that reason, we will use public transport, which is comfortable and safe, as the whole city of Zagreb is, and we will visit interesting places in the city center and outside it. On this longer tour of Zagreb it becomes clear that the historical part of a city is not everything, and especially a city like Zagreb has so many layers and depth to it that 4 hours strolling through this city with an experienced guide can pass in no time, and is surely a time well spent.
We start this tour from your hotel, and then continue towards the Upper town, which is the oldest part of the city, seeing its main attractions such as the Cathedral, the Dolac market, Stone gate, Saint Marko square, Southern vista viewpoint, Lotrscak tower, the First gymnasium, and many others. After seeing the city center, depending on time left and your choice, we can see one (or more) of the following: - visit to Utrina market in New Zagreb city, a residential area that consists of half of the population of Zagreb. - visit to Mirogoj cemetery, seeing its beautiful arcades and the cemetery style popular in this part of Europe. The famous architect Herman Bolle left his aesthetic trace in this cemetery as well, as he did on various buildings of the city center - visiting the 18th century Maksimir park, one of the first in Europe that was open to public
