Hello, My name is Hrvoje Dario. I'm of the Northern Croatia, and local of Zagreb and Varazdin. I've been working as a tour guide for a number of years now, guiding to every part of Croatia, as well as other countries in the region, such as Bosnia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Austria. Beside stories and information, the four things I put the highest emphasis when guiding travelers are safety, respect, care and comfort. Travelers should always feel safe and comfortable, while being treated with care and respect. Being a traveler myself, I am well aware of the significance of a travel and the effect it has on us and those around us. In my free time I like to read, write, go to nature, visit interesting places, reading articles and books on history, psychology, anthropology, meditation, astronomy, sustainability. My travels have so far taken me across five continents; some journeys being in the Middle East, the Americas, South and Southeast Asia, North Africa, Europe etc. Beside having various other benefits, such travels have also exposed me to the work of international tour guides, which gave me insights into improving my own guiding tours. It is important to me that the travelers I guide feel relaxed and enjoy every moment of it, and to have a memorable experience. I also aim that you experience my country not just as a tourist, but rather to see how things are here, to get an understanding of its everyday life, and perhaps to even feel like a local. If you are interested in coming to Croatia and explore it with a guide, feel free to contact me. I've finished tour guide course and am licensed to guide in Varazdin and Zagreb counties as a tour guide, and all over Croatia and surrounding countries as a tour leader. I've specialized in tourism branch by finishing the Zagreb School of Management (current VERN) back in 2007.

A tour from Zagreb to Plitvice lakes, the most famous and, according to many, the most beautiful National park in Croatia. Graded as one of the top five waterfalls in the world, they consist of 16 lakes, all of them connected by many waterfalls. In this tour I aim to see both Lower and part of the Upper Lakes, in order to see the essentials of this national park. In this way the visit to the park will be wholesome and complete. This being a private tour, the pace of the tour will be completely adjusted to you. My prime goal is that you feel comfortable and relaxed in this beautiful place that is teeming with life. The entire lake area is a travertine forming region that makes lakes and waterfalls constantly changing. The climate is very favorable as well - during warm summer months the air is cooler and refreshing, whilst winter brings its own magic to this part of Croatia. Join me on the walk through the Land of the Falling Lakes, and discover why so many people return to this magical place!
The tour starts from your hotel. On our 2-hour drive to Plitvice we will stop at Rastoke, charming village built on waterfalls, with watermills and meadows, rightly called the prelude to Plitvice. - In Plitvice we will walk by and across some of the Lower and Upper lakes. Lunch is after the first hour of walking, at the Kozjak lake, the biggest lake of Plitvice. - Continuing then is a scenic boat ride across lake Kozjak, the biggest lake in the Park. Once at that other side, we will do a loop around Gradinsko lake (closed during winter months, in which case we change our route). - Usually the total stay in the park last 3-5 hours (mostly depending on your pace and if it is crowded or not), with breaks for meal/refreshments. - After Plitvice lakes optional activity is stopping for a cheese tasting at a cheese boutique (runned by a lovely couple that will tell you many things about cheese and their products). The tour ends at your hotel in Zagreb.
