Hi everyone! I see you are looking at my profile. That's a good start :) Let me introduce myself. You can say that I practically derive from tourism. For the last 16 years I have been actively working as a licensed local guide, driver-guide, receptionist and certified adventure guide (kayaking, hiking and cycling). In addition I have studied tourism and got my masters degree in the same field. This job is giving me the freedom to create unique experiences, for myself and for all of my clients and business partners. My tours are very much a reflection of me as a person. That means they are done in an amicable and relaxed way with a lot of laughter. All those experiences helped me understand what people really want and expect from their vacation. As the world is changing so is the needs for travel. Personally when I travel, I like to emerge myself into the life of the locals and get to know the culture. My specialty are food and wine tours, hike tours, customized Plitvice Lakes tours, cultural day trips to Varaždin and Trakošćan castle, unique walking tours of Zagreb and of course tailor-made tours of entire Croatia. I use a car or a van for day trips of multi-day experiences. I simply love my country and I make sure that people who visit Croatia, experience it in the best possible way. Leave the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle behind you and and join me on exploring one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world. I have been there more than 1000x so you can put your trust in me to make this experience amazing! On your way to Plitvice Lakes we will visit Rastoke, a village famous for its watermills. I would say, a great place to stretch our legs and soak in the "watery" atmosphere. Before we enter the park you will decide which level of activity suits you best and together we will tailor the tour accordingly. In the park you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the waterfalls and 16 interconnected emerald lakes and the flora and fauna surrounding them. I sure am! :) I love cooking and preparing food so I will share that passion with you by setting up a small picnic with some homemade specialties from my families farm. As the sun sets, finish your day with a relaxing drive, casual atmosphere, friendly chatter, and memories for a lifetime!
This tour was one of the best tours we’ve ever had. It was about a 2 hour drive to get to the park and Karlo filled the time with tons of information about Croatia and the National Park. He has a great personality and sense of humor so we had a lot of laughs. He went above and beyond to make sure the tour met our needs in every way. I definitely recommend him if you want a great tour!
This tour was a phenomenal experience. The park was amazing—everywhere you look, there’s a waterfall! Our tour guide, Karlo, was the best. He was wonderful company, educating us on the history as well as culture. He brought a picnic for us that was all homemade, delicious food! And he took such care in planning a wonderful day for us in the park, while ensuring we were back to Zagreb in time for connecting with our larger tour group. I cannot say enough good things about this tour. Do yourself a favor and book it!
This tour was spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Karlo, who offered a great deal of knowledge about Croatian history on our drive to the lakes. Once at the national park, Karlo shared his love of this natural wonder along with the history of those who helped to make it so. The walk is beautiful even in early winter. Highly recommend!
Karlo was a great guide !! Very knowledge about the area and history. We were able to tailor the hike as needed and it was oerfect. Definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth. Karlo was very attentive to all details to make the tour perfect ( including the treats he brought ) My husband and I travel extensively and often use private guides Karlo has become our favourite of all time
Amazing day, beautiful park. Karlo was very well versed in best routes and information that made this trip extra special. He also packed a delicious light lunch to enjoy lakeside. I can't believe he got me to walk the full 5 miles! Feet were sore but it was a wonderful experience.
Karlo is a terrific guide - very personable and knowledgeable. He tailored his tour to our interests, while also showing us the highlights of the city. He was more than happy to suggest and include stops that he thought we would enjoy. For example, after some prior emails about our interests, Karlo suggested that we end our tour with a tasting of Croatian wines and the place he chose was great! In the morning hours you will get picked up at your accommodation in Zagreb. During the 1. 5 hour drive to our first stop we will get to know each other pretty well and of course I will share interesting stories about the history of the region. First stop will be Rastoke village for a short break (30 min) and some beautiful photo opportunities. Once we reach the National Park (additional 30 min drive) you will be given an overview of the trails and choose your own activity level. Depending on the level you choose, we will spend 2-6 hours in the park. We can always play it by ear and adjust during the tour itself. In the park we will explore the Lower and the Upper Lakes (depending on the season some parts might be closed). At one point we will take a short break to enjoy some of the homemade specialties that I have brought from my family run farm. Once we finish the tour of the park you will be driven back to Zagreb (approx. 2 hour). *this tour can be customized by cheese tasting or a traditional lunch
