Private eclectic walking tour of Zagreb

This review is very late, with apologies to Karlo. I had a very enjoyable tour with Karlo in mid-June. I am a very senior woman who was travelling on her own. Karlo gave me a morning tour that gave me a very good idea of the layout of the city and allowed me to confidently enjoy Zagreb on my own for the rest of my stay. It was a pleasure to be with him and he gave me a good understanding of the city and its history, and the food and wine I should not miss! I recommend him highly. I have used guides from ToursByLocals in many countries for many years. Karlo rates among the best!

An extraordinary tour through beautiful Zagreb, we learned a lot about history, architecture and culture. Karlo is a smart and very funny Tourguide. He is a master in storytelling which made our tour very special. Afterwards, I felt like I knew Zagreb, which made the stay very pleasant, not least because of the many tips for planning the remaining days and the great restaurant recommendations. I definitely can recommend Karlo and we will come back soon joining him for another exciting tour!

I booked two tours for my visit to Zagreb due to different interests and Karlo customized both to our preferences. Not only is he knowledgeable and friendly, he’s personable and fantastic to deal with. This is the only way to learn about a new city and is a must upon arrival. You may learn something new that completely changes your plans during your visit. I highly recommend Karlo if you’re looking for the best day ever!

Karlo is a wonderful guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Zagreb with Karlo. He is friendly, energetic and insightful about Zagreb. His knowledge of Zagreb and its history made the tour a wonderful learning, enjoyable and fun experience. The tour was a great combination of the varied sights to see in Zagreb. He shares helpful pictures and information throughout the tour. Additionally, he is more than helpful in sharing information that one can use in Zagreb while on one's own, such as restaurant listings and museums to see. Karlo's English is excellent, and he was very easy to understand. I highly recommend Karlo for tours of Zagreb and presume he is just as good for tours elsewhere in Croatia.

We had an absolutely wonderful day in Zagreb with Karlo. Within minutes of meeting Karlo, we knew we were exploring the city with a new friend. We learned so much from Karlo’s engaging and knowledgeable stories and explanation of Zagreb and Croatia’s history. Karlo customised the tour for us to include a fabulous craft beer tasting, and he also made a dinner reservation for us at Stari Fijaker - an excellent Croatian restaurant, as well as sending me a long list of restaurants, food and drinks to try. If you’re going to Zagreb, you could not find a better guide than Karlo.
