Hi everyone! I see you are looking at my profile. That's a good start :) Let me introduce myself. You can say that I practically derive from tourism. For the last 16 years I have been actively working as a licensed local guide, driver-guide, receptionist and certified adventure guide (kayaking, hiking and cycling). In addition I have studied tourism and got my masters degree in the same field. Overview of your Zagreb tour
I can honestly say this is one of my favorite tours because of the historical context. From a very young age I have taken an interest into history and this tour allows me to share the passion to anyone that is interested in the subject. This experience touches base with numerous subjects and time periods and during the drive from Zagreb towards Varaždin you will already get acquainted with the area. In Varaždin I will guide you on a walking tour and tell you interesting titbits about this beautiful town, once the capital of Croatia. We will of course visit a unique resting place of the locals which is definitely one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe. I know it sounds morbid to visit a cemetery but trust me on this ;) The pinnacle of the tour is definitely Trakošćan castle in which I will guide you and tell you tales of the owners, their customs and traditions. Immerse yourself in history, and travel back in time in style. A tour not to be missed by a history lover!
Your Zagreb tour itinerary
In the morning hours I will pick you up at your accommodation in Zagreb and we will head to Varaždin (75 min drive). During the drive I will share interesting stories about the region. In Varaždin I will take you on walking tour of the town and share many interesting stories and reveal some hidden spots. After the walk you will enjoy free time and perhaps try some local cuisine. We will continue to Varaždin cemetery to marvel at the beauty of this unique spot. The drive to Trakošćan castle will take approx. 50 min during which you will be fascinated by the scenery and many stories. The setting of the castle will impress you as much as the rich history. I will guide you through the castle and share many stories which will for a brief moment take you back to medieval times.
