Oi! My name is Neyla, and I am an accredited tour guide. I've been a flight attendant for over 20 years and since year 2000, I'm accredited as an international tour guide to incoming and outgoing passengers. Life gave me good opportunity to experience different cultures dealing with people from all over, and, added to the chance I had to leave in different countries, I learned a lot about different culture and people. As a tour-guide, the idea is to show you the most of my city in one day tailoring the tour according with time scheduled and your interest as long a I know this city like the back of my hand. Besides the classical touristic attractions, you'll have a chance to have the flavor of our local way of life Let me enchant your day in Rio! You'll have me as a new friend on your list after we've being touring in my city! Your joy and satisfaction is very important to me. INTERPOL 75º General Assembly in Rio 2006. Discover a little corner of Rio in the middle of Rio de Janeiro's nature close to the bustling neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca. Ilha de Gigoia even the widest streets look like tiny paths, and there are no cars on the island, of course. It has about 3000 inhabitants. Despite being so small, Gigoia has everything you need: several options for restaurants, small shops and even inns and apartments for rent for the night, all very simple, without luxury. Phenomenal, the arrival is pure charm, through boats, there is also a tour of the island, where we find alligators, capybaras, diversity in birds, stunning views, unmissable.
The island is an extremely calm place and also very safe thanks to its isolation. I advise you to wear flat, comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes, to make it easier to walk through the unpaved streets and to get in and out of the boats. If you're going to stay there in the late afternoon, I think it's worth taking a repellent - I got a few bites on the way out.
