Hello there my name is Richard and I hope your looking forward to visiting London ! I've been guiding in London since 2021, particularly in the City of London which is the part that the Romans founded almost 2000 years ago. The City of London is special as it has always remained apart from the rest of London and it's history, unique status and customs are fascinating. It's also though a thoroughly modern area with shiny new skyscrapers going up all the time. London has always been a passion of mine, it's history, style, theatre, museums, bars and restaurants all add up to a city worthy of the title world class. Showing visiting friends around London is something that I love to do and it was during the pandemic that I decided that I would love to put my passion for sharing London with others to good use so I signed up to train to become a walking tour guide and I am so pleased that I did. Before I became a guide I worked in the City in its core industry - finance, and so I can show you the inside view of the City and take you to special places away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. My tours are always walks which means we can get really under the skin of the City and discover what has made it tick for all these centuries. I have lived in London for 30 years and was brought up not far away in Surrey. When not guiding or enjoying some of London's cultural offerings I love to walk and cycle and luckily for me both of these things can be done in London which means I get to know this wonderful place more and more! I've also traveled a lot and been on a lot of walking tours of other great cities which has helped me learn what does and does not work well. I would be delighted to show you around on one of my tours and if there is anything you want to see in the City of London that isn't mentioned in any of my tours just let me know and we can include it.
