Hola!! My name is Gonzalo, and I am an official tour guide in Madrid. I also tour to everywhere that you need to discover surrounding Madrid: Toledo, Segovia, Ávila, El Escorial and Valley of the Fallen… I was born in Madrid, the capital of this amazing country. I was formerly an actor for 15 years (and I need to recognize that I am still a little bit of it). But then I decided to change my career, changing fictional stages to some of the best world and national heritages, and deciding that my new audience was going to be you! How many times am I guiding at the Royal Palace and I think: "Gonzalo, you are lucky, you work at the best office ever!"? I have been working as a local tour guide for 7 years now, delivering more than one thousand tours. Yes… I was busy… I think that the key is passion. Everything is about passion… I am a constant learner, autodidact freak, and probably my main passion is to learn new things, but the best part is to spread that knowledge. I love to communicate, trying to make easier and entertaining what seems to be difficult. I have found that history and art are both a challenge to understand people and societies, but also something fascinating that enrich our lives. I want you to not get overwhelmed at Prado Museum but seeing how history comes to life… I want you to feel like a King or Queen walking at theirs gardens in Retiro Park… Imagining how were the lifes in Toledo during the Middle Ages… Or recreating in your mind the tiny Arab citadel that was Madrid in its origins… As a good friend of mine told me once, when someone is receiving a relevant message, her eyes are shinning, and when I'm doing my work that's my main goal: that spark in your eyes.
