Since 2010, I've had the pleasure of introducing visitors from all over the world to the beauty, charm, and history of Slovenia, especially my hometown, Ljubljana. I would be honored to welcome you as my next guest.

Born and raised in Ljubljana, I studied journalism at the University of Ljubljana and worked for many years as a travel journalist and researcher at Slovenia's national TV broadcaster. Although I once searched for a new home abroad, I ultimately realized that the best place to be... was right here.

Slovenia is still considered one of Europe’s hidden gems—but that’s changing fast. Its natural beauty, rich culture, and high quality of life are capturing more and more attention. Curious to know why? I’d love to show you in person.

Slovenian Alps are breathtaking. Every 15 min man can get a 'wow' effect ;) I can see them from my window in Ljubljana and love to visit them.

Bled is a trademark of Slovenian tourism and one of the most picturesque sites of the country. Its views are amazing - a small clear-blue lake, an island with a small church in the middle, a medieval castle on a cliff at the lake and the Julian Alps behind it. A 'must' in Bled is to taste a local cake, a famous 'kremšnita'.

Not far from Bled there's an alpine valley of Bohinj, which boasts with the biggest Slovenian permanent lake. It is located in the heart of high Julian Alps, the kingdom of the famous mountain goat Zlatorog. The place is full of legends, full of great hiking opportunities and amazing views.

Mount Vogel is a ski-resort about the lake and from there (weather permitting) man can get to a million-dollar viewpoint of Julian Alps and the Bohinj valley below. I need to remind myself of not to forget to breathe of all the beauty ;)

Bled Lake and Bohinj Valley full day tour from Ljubljana

Today we'll be exploring the breathtaking Istrian region, located between the Adriatic Sea and the mainland. This region is like stepping into a painting, with rolling hills, fields, and valleys dotted with charming towns perched on the peaks. To start the day off, we'll be participating in a special local activity: truffle hunting. We'll experience the thrill of the hunt and learn all about the precious and coveted truffle. After our successful hunt, we'll be ready to quench our thirst with a visit to a local winery where they honor tradition and Istrian cultural heritage.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll head to the most picturesque coastal town in Slovenia, Piran. This charming town was once part of the great Venetian republic and is filled with stunning architecture that reflects its history. You'll have time to explore the narrow streets, admire the beautiful buildings and soak up the atmosphere of this unique town.

Slovenian Istria

Welcome to Lake Bled, Slovenia's most iconic and picturesque lake. At Lake Bled we will take a traditional two-oared wooden "pletna" boat ride to Bled Island, climb the island's 99 steps to reach the Church on the Island, where visitors make a wish by ringing the famous pilgrimage bell. Later we will indulge in a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants. After lunch we will journey to Bled Castle, built on a precipice during the 11th century, and explore its Renaissance towers while enjoying the most spectacular views of the lake from its terrace. As the day comes to a close, we'll have the chance to visit a local beekeeper and learn all about the lives of bees and why Slovenians respect them so much.
