Hello, my name is Manuela, I work as a licensed tourist guide in Sicily (southern Italy) and I am deeply in love with Aeolian Islands archipelago. Being a talkative person, I decided the university course "Foreign Languages and International Communication" was the right one for me. And I have never regretted this choice. Furthermore my master's degree thesis was about the travel literature subject: the Grand Tour across Europe, Italy and Sicily of course. I had the opportunity to boost my knowledge and skills by going abroad (Canada, England, France). Particularly, I spent one year in France working as a teacher at high school, thanks to an international project which allowed me to know a nice peer group from all over the world. I've learnt a lot from this experience and I'm still in touch with these lovely people. Finally my heart decided to come back to my beloved Sicily: an extraordinary place to live, admire and enjoy with all the senses. So I took the Tour Leader license and the Tour Guide license, being active in both sectors, in English, French, Spanish and Italian of course. At the very beginning of my career I've turned around Sicily accompanying people, usually for a week, as a tour leader. Now I mostly work as tour guide near the area where I live. I invest all my passion and professional skills in order to promote this beautiful island in terms of its history and geography, its art and architecture, its environs and cultural features. To know the past is the key to understand the present! I really love my job, I am sharp, good at communicating effectively with people, good at understanding promptly people's needs.
