Guide #37473
I've lived in Dublin city centre and suburbs all my life, and the history of Dublin and it's stories are endlessly surprising, even to someone who lives here. Since I've started with ToursByLocals I've found it to be a lot of fun, and very rewarding to see visitors really engage with the real Dublin! These are the streets of James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Bono, Sinead O'Connor, Arthur Guinness., (and some baddies too, like Henry the Eighth and a couple of Cromwells..) . . I take little detours when asked (which is a LOT), and I like to make sure that my friends who book onto my tours have the best of times! As a professional musician and producer I've also got some unusual insights into some of the secrets of this world, with the ocassional behind the scenes tale or two. I also have a very special relationship with Dublin's Ha'Penny Bridge, as I personally brokered the deal to make Fender Guitars in honour of Gary Moore and Phil Lynott from the bridge itself! Dublin is an old city, but it's not a museum, it's also a brand new city - this is the same throughout all of Ireland - and I enjoy showing visitors how these worlds live side by side, so you can have fun while being amazed at the same time! We wanted a one day tour of the best of Dublin. We should have customized more, but we haven't been there before and let the guide choose our stops. Shopping and driving around the city wasn't quite what what we had hoped, nor did we want to stop in pubs. I wish I had asked more questions about the content of the tour beforehand. Our guide was also late.

August 2026Hi Barb, thanks for your comments. I had you booked in for 9.00am, not 8.30 as per your booking, and I was happy to add this time on at the end, which you duly appreciated. I am always flexible with my tours, and I change them to the many requests I receive day to day from my many USA travellers - if you had let me know you had other preferences, I would immediately have...
Dermot was a nice enough guy but the tour he gave did not hit 75% of the itinerary. We missed out on most of the major attractions and the focus was on the shopping areas and not the historical gems in Dublin. In addition he provided little if any information for what sites we did see. While this tour was supposed to be via car with some walking it was the complete...
Great tour pleasure to be with, went to places I’d never been. Great lunch together and really felt a close bond not just someone leading a tour.
