Cead míle fáilte romhat! "A hundred thousand welcomes to you!" The fair city of Dublin is an UNESCO City of Literature, the home of famous musicians and unknown storytellers, of Irish freedom-fighters, and it's also where all pubs are born! From the GPO and Ireland's long fight for independence to Merrion Sq and Dublin's Georgian glory, from the Book of Kells and Ireland's Golden Age to Christchurch Cathedral and Dublin's Gothic Age, Dublin has so much to offer. I am an experienced, energetic, passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide of Dublin City and have given over a hundred and fifty tours of Dublin to thousands of visitors. As well as being a certified tour guide, I have B. A. Int. in Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies, so I have the legends and the facts that guide books will never have. As we walk the streets, I'll recount the stories and the histories, sing the songs, recite the poems, deliver the jokes, and tell you the banter of this charming city. You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who can match my styles and be passionate & emotional, dramatic & theatrical, interactive and funny and epic(!) all on the same tour! So join me on a stroll through Dublin's alleys, trod the same cobbled streets as Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift and Bram Stoker, smell the hops from the Guinness Brewery, view the riverscape from Ha'Penny Bridge, and just live the atmosphere of this historic, dramatic and fascinating city. And as the friendliest capital city in the world, you're sure to establish some friendships here in Dublin! Beatrice's Tour Guiding Certificate I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Guiding inside some attractions, e.g. Trinity Library, Dublinia, is restricted somewhat.

Do you enjoy Food Tours, Pub Tours, Museums, Culture and learning how the locals live? This tour combines elements from all those tours to give you the most varied, comprehensive and enjoyable Dublin experience. After 10yrs of guiding private tours, I have used my expert knowledge of Dublin and designed a tour to give you an unforgettable full day in the city. By the end of the tour, you'll have visited the essential highlights of Dublin sightseeing, witnessed history at the National Gallery and National Museum, eaten lunch where the locals go, shopped for Irish artisanal foods & cheeses, paired them with Irish beer/whiskey in a locals' pub, visited a jeweller (or another artisan) and learned the methods & inspiration behind their art. The tour will give you not only an understanding but a powerful feeling for Irish history & modern culture. Most importantly, you'll have connected with an authentic Irish guide who wants to share a fantastically memorable & personal day with you.

My wife and I contacted Garvin R. and arranged for a customized full-day (8 hour) walking tour of Dublin. We have previously booked about 15 to 20 wonderful private tours in cities all over the world with ToursByLocals. Garvin R. may be the best guide we have ever had. He is a remarkable talent. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Irish history and culture. He is also considerate, patient, flexible, and well-organized. We had a fabulous and memorable day. I would add that Garvin seems to have a wide skill range, able to accommodate differing touring needs. Thank you, Garvin!
If we could give this tour more than five stars, we would! From start to finish, Garvan exceeded every expectation we had for our first visit to Dublin. Based on the tour description, we had high hopes going in, and Garvan delivered on every promise and then some. His knowledge is remarkable, and he shared a wealth of information about the sites we visited, Ireland’s rich history, its relationship with Britain, and the realities of modern Irish life. Every stop was engaging, informative, and thoughtfully presented. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was Garvan himself. He is personable, funny, kind, and genuinely passionate about ensuring his guests have the best possible experience. He has a natural ability to make you feel completely at ease. Within minutes, it felt less like we were touring with a guide and more like we were spending the day with an old friend. The tour was so enjoyable that we found ourselves lingering long after it officially ended, sharing a couple of pints at a local pub while continuing our conversation. Despite having already given us so much of his time, Garvan never made us feel rushed and was just as engaging and welcoming as he had been throughout the tour. He even recommended a fantastic restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be another highlight of our trip. Garvan truly checked every box: knowledgeable, engaging, insightful, entertaining, and genuinely hospitable. If you're on the fence about booking this tour, consider this your sign to do it. You won't regret it!
Garvan was absolutely fantastic! Full of historical information and context on what we were seeing, as well as great conversation over coffee and chocolates, and later cheese, wine and dinner. We highly recommend booking a tour with Garvan! You will not be disappointed!
This was a perfect start to our Ireland vacation. We learned so much from Garvan about Ireland's history and got a good dose of Irish culture as well (visited a cheesemoinger and ended our day with a beer and whiskey pairing). Our adult children enjoyed as much as we did. We highly recommend.
Wonderful day exploring Dublin. Definitely and Irish Catholic perspective but fun filled day learning much of the wonders of Dublin. Understand why this young energetic guide has so many great recommendations.
-We will start our tour with a salute to Oscar Wilde at Merrion Square, and then dive into Irish history at National Gallery and National Museum of History & Archaeology -After a coffee break, we shall walk around St Stephen's Green and along Grafton street, passing by The Irish Parliament and the Old Parliament building -We will then enter Trinity College and visit the Old Library that houses The Book of Kells, Ireland's most treasured medieval artefact -We will stop for lunch at a very local place - from now on you will no longer feel like a tourist. After a glimpse at George's St. Arcade, we will pay a visit to a local Irish jeweller and learn about the necklaces and rings inspired by Ireland - a great opportunity to obtain an authentic Irish gift -We will then move on to a local market to purchase some quality Irish produce -After a visit to Dublin Castle and Christchurch Cathedral, we will top off our perfect day with a pint in a traditional pub - paired with some cheeses we've got from the market
