Explore Waterford your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Waterford tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Waterford for every interest, including:

Layover tours: Get picked up at Belview Port or Waterford Plunkett Station for a focused loop of the Viking Triangle, step inside Reginald’s Tower and the Medieval Museum, watch master cutters at the House of Waterford Crystal, and grab a warm Waterford blaa before your return.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Walk to Mahon Falls in the Comeragh Mountains for easy views and sheep-dotted hills, then continue to the Copper Coast Geopark to comb rock pools at Kilfarrasy Beach and scan for gannets and kittiwakes, or visit Tramore Back Strand for seasonal birdwatching.

Architecture tours: Trace layers of design from the stout stone of Reginald’s Tower to the vaulted chambers under the Medieval Museum, step into Christ Church Cathedral, and compare Georgian elegance at the Bishop’s Palace with contemporary glasswork at the crystal studios.

The compact centre is very walkable, and local buses and taxis cover short hops, but reaching the Comeraghs or the Copper Coast is tricky on public transit, so you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide about private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Waterford inside and out.
