A Remarkable Day in Wicklow with Brian Our family of eight spent an unforgettable day touring Wicklow with Brian, and he exceeded every expectation. He struck the perfect balance of being funny, witty, and wonderfully engaging — keeping both our toddler and our almost‑teens entertained the entire day, which is no small feat. Brian’s knowledge of the area, its history, and its stories was immense, yet he shared it all in a way that felt lively and accessible. He kept us moving at a great pace without ever making us feel rushed. The sheep‑herding demonstration ended up being just as memorable for the whole family as the historical sites themselves. For me personally, the day held special meaning. My grandmother was born in Ireland before immigrating to the United States, and Brian welcomed me “home” with such sincerity that I was genuinely moved. It’s a moment I’ll carry with me. The tour commences at your hotel, cruise ship or place of residence. Our tour takes us south of Dublin, and we visit Sandymount strand, Dún Laoghaire harbour, the famous 40 ft swimming area, Dalkey village and Killiney with spectacular coastal views, then we make our way to the Powerscourt Estate gardens for a bathroom stop and coffee break, at around 1030 am we then drive along the sally gap drive and visit the Guinness lakes, the bridge featured in the movie "PS I love you", and then stop for a photo at Victor's garden, followed by lunch in a rural village pub, at around 1 p m after lunch we visit the monastery settlement of Glendalough and I will walk you around and explain the history of the settlement, we then visit the two lakes before we make our way back to Dublin. I can also arrange private sheep dog trials with a local farmer subject to availability.
