Cead míle fáilte romhat! "A hundred thousand welcomes to you!" The fair city of Dublin is an UNESCO City of Literature, the home of famous musicians and unknown storytellers, of Irish freedom-fighters, and it's also where all pubs are born! From the GPO and Ireland's long fight for independence to Merrion Sq and Dublin's Georgian glory, from the Book of Kells and Ireland's Golden Age to Christchurch Cathedral and Dublin's Gothic Age, Dublin has so much to offer. I am an experienced, energetic, passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide of Dublin City and have given over a hundred and fifty tours of Dublin to thousands of visitors. As well as being a certified tour guide, I have B. A. Int. in Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies, so I have the legends and the facts that guide books will never have. As we walk the streets, I'll recount the stories and the histories, sing the songs, recite the poems, deliver the jokes, and tell you the banter of this charming city. You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who can match my styles and be passionate & emotional, dramatic & theatrical, interactive and funny and epic(!) all on the same tour! So join me on a stroll through Dublin's alleys, trod the same cobbled streets as Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift and Bram Stoker, smell the hops from the Guinness Brewery, view the riverscape from Ha'Penny Bridge, and just live the atmosphere of this historic, dramatic and fascinating city. And as the friendliest capital city in the world, you're sure to establish some friendships here in Dublin! Beatrice's Tour Guiding Certificate I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Guiding inside some attractions, e.g. Trinity Library, Dublinia, is restricted somewhat.

Overview of your Dublin tour

The fair city of Dublin is an UNESCO City of Literature, the home of famous musicians and unknown storytellers, of Irish freedom-fighters, and it's also where all pubs are born! An inspiring, in-depth exploration of Dublin's history from Irish bridge, to Viking town, and from colonisation to Independence. For those who seek a deeper understanding of and connection with Ireland. We'll walk a nice loop of the city centre, taking in every main site (as well as many minor ones) in Dublin, as well as allowing two breaks for coffee and lunch. As well as (nearly) all the sites, I'll inform you of the legacy of Dublin and Ireland, aiming to complete your understanding of Irish history and Irish culture, and, of course, we'll have great 'craic' (fun, laughs) along the way.

Garvan was personal, knowledgeable and had an amazing personality, sharing both history and sights along the way of our tour which included the library at Trinity College and the Book of Kells, giving us skip the line tickets and great narration during our visit. Although it was five hours, it went quickly and plenty of opportunities to sit , rest, and admire art, culture and history of Ireland. Highly recommended and well worth it.

Garvan is an enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable guide who brings history to life. We had a great tour. He answered our questions, dove deep into topics that interested us, and expanded on Irish history we did not know. We saw many things around Dublin and wished the tour was a bit longer to see even more places. Come ready to walk and consider bringing food/water so you don't need to stop to maximize your time. We had a good time, learned a lot, and would recommend Garvan's tour any day.

Garvan was an amazing guide. He was incredibly flexible and was willing to change the date and time of our tour when our flight was delayed by a full day. He was also so knowledgeable and so much fun at the same time. He tailored the tour to our interests and kept our family, including our teenaged and adult children, completely awed by the sights he showed us and the information he had to share. We saw and learned about Christ’s Church, the Book of Kells, the National Gallery, and so many places in between. We all felt that we learned more in an afternoon (and in a much more fun and exciting learning environment) than we had in years of history classes. Thank you Garvan!

Garvan is a scholar and a poet. He knows a good deal of the history of Ireland and makes it fun by telling it in stories, the Irish way! Thanks Garvan and we hope to see you next time. Georgi and Cheryl loved it too!
