Private Guide-Tour Operator- Licenced Professional Driver. I have lived in Dublin all my adult life, ie 40 years. I was educated here and worked here all that time. I have a detailed knowledge of the history, geography and culture of the city and its environment. I am a fully badged Irish Tourist Board (Failte Ireland) approved Tour Guide, a National Tourist Guide. I have years of experience as a hillwalking leader in and around the city and the Dublin and Wicklow mountains (including the Wicklow Way). I have been guiding in various forms in Dublin and its environs for many years simply because I love it. I have completed every state course available in tour guiding but having worked in every nook and cranny of this city and coutry for a lifetime I feel that my passion for it will speak volumes for my ability to portray it to you in private tours. October 2012 I successfully completed a Certificate Course in Tour Guiding with Failte Ireland, The Irish Tourist Board. In July 2013 I successfully completed a National Tourist Guide Badge Course with Failte Ireland. I have a taxi licence (SPSV) and a D1 minibus licence to carry up to 16 people. I am a born and bred Dubliner and I have been roaming these historic street for 60 years. This can be up to 6 hours with a national guide with an all consuming passion for the city. It is a short walk to anywhere. See Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, St Patricks Cathedral and the Phoeinix Park and the Guinness Storehouse. See where the Vikings first landed and created a town settlement and where the Anglo Normans developed the medieval city. Explore the exact places where Irish rebels fought and died to free the country from 800 years of occupation. Areas of interest include Dublin Castle, the seat of British power in Ireland for centuries, the two principal cathedrals of Dublin dating from the 11th and 12th centuries (and St Patricks Cathedral Door of Reconciliation), The Halfpenny Bridge, Temple Bar, Trinity College, Georgian Dublin etc. I can create a customized tour for you in case you have special requests or if you are more than 6 people and need a larger vehicle I can arrange it.
Wonderful day with Sean. Took us on early morning walking tour of city center that was informative and fun! Great guide and great person!
Sean was incredibly knowledgeable and so flexible. So glad we had him as our guide!
WOW! Our 1 day tour of Dublin could not have been better. Sean was great. I have anxiety issues and Sean answered all my questions before we left the US and while on the cruise. He stopped at the Grand Lodge of Dublin so my husband could get some photos. He went past a statue and when I commented that I should have had my camera ready he replied, "no problem". He drove around the block, parked, and gave me time to get several photos. Our friends on the cruise mentioned they had wanted to see St. Patrick's Cathedral, but their guide (different company) told them no one could get in. I said "we did" and showed her our photos. TBL and Sean are the best!!!
Sean was great and very flexible for our group! Much thanks!
Sean was an excellent guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of our family's questions. We visited Trinity College & the book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the National Museum. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Brazen Head. Sean packed in a lot of information and fun for the short time we were in Dublin. Would definitely recommend Sean and his tour!
Sean is a great historian/tour guide. He picked us up from our ship’s water shuttle in Dun Laoghaire and we spent the day seeing and learning about all parts of Dublin. Trinity College was closed that day due to protests at the college, so we didn’t get to see the Book of Kells, but Sean filled our day in with a number of other sights. I don’t think we missed it much, and now have a reason to return to Dublin. Thanks, Sean!
You will be picked up from your cruise ship or hotel or a venue suitable to you in Dublin and dropped back at the end to your chosen venue. In between you will be driven all around the city (and outside it if required) and you will be shown all the essential sites to visit. There may be time to do one or two of the internal sites like the Book of Kells at Trinity College or any of the many other attractions. I can bring you on my own personal tour of St Patrick's Cathedral, Irelands national cathedral. In the Phoenix Park, the largest walled park in Europe, I can bring you to see wild deer in their natural habitat. Also in the park is the Pope's Cross where Pope John Paul II said Mass in front of over a million people in 1979. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to customize this tour.
