I’m Cathal, a private guide and professional actor, offering story-led walking tours that bring Dublin to life. I’ve spent over a decade guiding visitors through this city, sharing its history, culture, and stories with people from all over the world. Born in Dublin and raised in rural County Kerry, I grew up in a world where storytelling was part of everyday life—tales of emigration, rebellion, landlords, fairies, and ghosts. When I later returned to Dublin for university, it felt like stepping onto the stage where so many of those stories had unfolded. My background includes Philosophy, Archaeology, and German. Having spent time living in Germany, I speak conversational German and am happy to welcome German-speaking guests. I also work professionally as an actor. That naturally shapes the way I guide. I bring the city to life through story, atmosphere, and lively conversation. My tours are relaxed, engaging, and personal. Whether it’s your first time in Dublin or you want to go deeper, I aim to help you experience the city with humour, insight, and a real sense of adventure. 5+ Stars - We had a fantastic 5 hour walking tour of Dublin with Cathal. He was a wealth of knowledge, very engaging, enthusiastic and best was his ability to find unique ways to incorporate our individual interests into every aspect of the tour. Cathal was a wonderful guide, extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He had a passion for the history of the city and the country that was very evident. And while highly informative his sense of humour made it fun at the same time. It was an absolute pleasure exploring Dublin with Cathal and without hesitation I would recommend him and his tour. Wonderful tour. Cathal was very knowledgeable and a wonderful historian. We learned a LOT about the city that we would never have been exposed to on our own. He also has a great voice and sang songs about the people, city and history. He provided great advice on sites to see, museums, restaurants and pubs. He took us to interesting back street areas we would never have...
