I’m Cathal, a private guide and professional actor, offering story-led walking tours that bring Dublin to life. I’ve spent over a decade guiding visitors through this city, sharing its history, culture, and stories with people from all over the world. Born in Dublin and raised in rural County Kerry, I grew up in a world where storytelling was part of everyday life—tales of emigration, rebellion, landlords, fairies, and ghosts. When I later returned to Dublin for university, it felt like stepping onto the stage where so many of those stories had unfolded. My background includes Philosophy, Archaeology, and German. Having spent time living in Germany, I speak conversational German and am happy to welcome German-speaking guests. I also work professionally as an actor. That naturally shapes the way I guide. I bring the city to life through story, atmosphere, and lively conversation. My tours are relaxed, engaging, and personal. Whether it’s your first time in Dublin or you want to go deeper, I aim to help you experience the city with humour, insight, and a real sense of adventure. Dublin has a story around every corner, and I’d be delighted to share it with you. Cathal

Discover Ireland’s most treasured manuscript and the deeper stories woven through its history, art, and identity. This private experience brings together the Book of Kells, Trinity College, the Treasury of the National Museum, the haunting Bog Bodies, and selected masterpieces of Irish art — all connected through story and context. Rather than simply moving from museum to museum, we trace a narrative: from early Christianity and medieval craftsmanship to kingship, rebellion, famine, and modern Irish identity.
Founded in 1592, Trinity College is Ireland’s oldest university. As we walk its cobbled squares, we explore how religion, power, and empire shaped its history before entering the Book of Kells exhibition to examine the artistry and symbolism of this 9th-century masterpiece. We then step into the magnificent Long Room of the Old Library (currently under restoration, with books temporarily removed). At the National Museum, Ireland’s ancient past comes to life. In the Treasury we view treasures such as the Tara Brooch, then stand face-to-face with the haunting Bog Bodies — preserved figures that still raise questions about ritual and kingship. In the National Gallery, selected Irish works reveal themes of famine, revolution, and identity. We conclude at Merrion Square beside the Oscar Wilde Memorial.
