Hi and welcome! My name is Alan, I am 44 years old, was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Having been to 35 countries on all the continents of the world, I have had the opportunity to be in touch with different cultures and languages - and this grew my desire to show my city, Rio de Janeiro, to tourists. I am a licensed tour guide in Rio by EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, and have been a private guide in Rio de Janeiro since 2013, having carried out hundreds of private tours of Rio, and have become more and more in love with my city and with my job as a Rio Tour Guide. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and have a BA in Social Communication. When I'm not guiding, I enjoy writing, reading, spirituality, hiking and studying languages (I also speak intermediate French). In my private tours, I use a 7-seater car (including me as driver guide), and my motivation is to be flexible and to offer you tailor-made tours, customized to your needs and desires, optimizing your time in Rio. Tour Guide Alan was great. Punctual, courteous, knowledgable, flexible to our schedule and desires. We had a great time visiting Petropolis and learned a lot about the history of Brazil and Portugal. We had a delay of 8 hours and wanted to reschedule the day and Alan was extremely helpful and assisted us.
