Hi and welcome! My name is Alan, I am 44 years old, was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Having been to 35 countries on all the continents of the world, I have had the opportunity to be in touch with different cultures and languages - and this grew my desire to show my city, Rio de Janeiro, to tourists. I am a licensed tour guide in Rio by EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, and have been a private guide in Rio de Janeiro since 2013, having carried out hundreds of private tours of Rio, and have become more and more in love with my city and with my job as a Rio Tour Guide. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and have a BA in Social Communication. When I'm not guiding, I enjoy writing, reading, spirituality, hiking and studying languages (I also speak intermediate French). In my private tours, I use a 7-seater car (including me as driver guide), and my motivation is to be flexible and to offer you tailor-made tours, customized to your needs and desires, optimizing your time in Rio. What I look for in each tour is to provide you with an experience that you will remember for many years to come!

70km away from Rio, Petropolis has a totally different atmosphere and architecture from Rio. The city was founded by D. Peter II to host the summer imperial palace of the portguese royal family. Petropolis has a unique architectural ensemble, such as the Quitandinha Palace, the St. Peter's Cathedral of Alcantara, the Crystal Palace, the Santos Dumont House, the Imperial Museum, and many colonial houses in the historical center. This tour can be customized to your needs. I want it to be a special day for you.
This will be our itinerary in Petropolis: - Pick-up at your place (in the south zone of Rio). - Quitandinha Palace: visit the garden of the once biggest hotel casino of South America. - Imperial Museum: used to be the summer house of the imperial family. - St. Peter of Alcantara Cathedral: exotic church with neo-gothic architecture. - Stop for lunch in a delicious portuguese restaurant. - Crystal Palace: built to be Princess Isabel's botanical garden, today it hosts exhibitions and events. - Santos Dumont museum: house where santos dumont lived years before he die. - Drop-off at your place.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
My SUV can accommodate 6 passengers: 4 adults + 2 persons up to 1.50m tall (or 5 adults in total). For more bigger groups, I rent a van with a driver (at an extra cost), so that the tour is extremely comfortable for everyone. Comfort Chart of my car (for tours, without luggage): # Passengers Comfort Level - 1 Passenger: Extremely Comfortable - 2 Passengers: Extremely Comfortable - 3 Passengers: Extremely Comfortable - 4 Passengers: Comfortable - 5 Passengers: Reasonably Comfortable for the 5th Passenger - 6 Passengers: Reasonably Comfortable for the 6th Passenger
