A writer by trade, I love a good story - and over the pandemic I discovered that the City of London is packed with them. When the streets emptied out, I spent hours just walking. Every time I stepped outside, I spotted something different: Roman remains, a secret garden, a plaque marking the spot where Shakespeare once lived. It inspired me to discover more about the Square Mile, and to train as a professional guide. The City is the oldest part of London, with 2, 000 years of history, culture and architecture to discover. But I also love the 21st century version with its skyscraper viewing platforms and seriously good coffee. Join me on a tour and experience the City like a local. Susannah was a wealth of knowledge not just about the Slow Horses filming sites and book references, but about the entire area in which it was filmed. This made the tour much more interesting than just being about Slow Horses. Highly recommend Susannah as a guide.
Susannah was a wonderful guide. We battled the tube strike & unexpected bus stop closures to meet up. She was sympathetic to our journey & made sure she adjusted the pace of the tour accordingly. Her knowledge of the show was amazing & her ability to communicate how each site translated to the show was much appreciated, as many of the locations appeared much differently in the show. Thoroughly enjoyed her knowledge of the city as well, which gave us a new appreciation for everything we were seeing. She was extremely pleasant & had a great sense of both humor & curiosity. Would definitely recommend her tours
As fans of the show, it was great fun to take this tour. Susannah covered a lot more ground than I expected, so we got to see a lot of scene locations. She also mixed in some historical sites as we did the tour, which was a bonus. My wife and I are Americans, and we were joined by a British friend who we had turned onto the show. All three of us thought the tour was a perfect way to spend an afternoon and thought Susannah was a fabulous guide.
If I can give Susannah 1-10 but 20 points, then be it. She knows her stuff about the Slow Horses show and the making of the show because she lives in the neighborhood! Talk about any show filmed in the area, she knows it. Highly recommend
We'll meet outside Old Street station, right in the centre of Jackson Lamb territory. Our route will include: - Blake's grave - the atmospheric burial ground from Series 1 - The Barbican estate - a stone's throw from Slough House - Historic Smithfield - including the scene of a chase in Season 3 - Bank Junction - the setting for the protest in Series 2 - The real-life location of the "spooks' church" - And, of course, the building that inspired Slough House The itinerary can be customised on request.
