Full Day Tour of London We spent a wonderful day with Amanda Hutchinson on her Full Day Tour of London with a private car during our recent girlfriends' trip, and she was absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning, Amanda helped us customize the day around our interests, creating the perfect itinerary. We visited Westminster Abbey, Kensington Palace, and St. Paul's Cathedral, along with a lovely walk to Buckingham Palace. Her knowledge of timing and logistics was invaluable. She guided us to each location at just the right time to minimize crowds and maximize our experience. Amanda also arranged a truly memorable British lunch at one of London's oldest pubs, which was a highlight of the day. Beyond showing us some of the world's most iconic landmarks, she brought them to life with her incredible knowledge of British history, particularly the fascinating history of the Monarchy. She is truly a walking textbook and answered our endless questions with patience, insight, and enthusiasm. What made the experience even more special was Amanda herself. She is warm, personable, engaging, and simply delightful to spend time with. The driver she arranged was equally outstanding and especially accommodating on a rainy day, ensuring we stayed comfortable throughout the tour. If I could give Amanda 10 stars instead of 5, I absolutely would. She made our London experience unforgettable, and I would recommend her without hesitation.

I'm an experienced Blue Badge Guide, trained and licensed to guide you on private tours inside key visitor attractions in London and South East England I specialise in custom Blue Badge Guided Private Tours in London and Day Tours out of London (or starting in the South East of England) for independent travelers, small groups, and families. With over 10 years as a Tours by Locals Guide, I've conducted nearly 400 5-star rated tours for visitors of all ages from around the world. My Blue Badge Guide qualifications, earned after nearly two years of rigorous training, allow me to guide clients through iconic sites such as Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, and Windsor Castle. Our comprehensive training covers detailed studies and examinations at significant locations like Royal Greenwich, the British Museum, and the National Gallery. It also includes guided walks around the City of London and panoramic tours across central London by car or coach. My Private Guided Day Tours outside London encompass day trips to Windsor Castle, Canterbury, Dover Castle, Hampton Court Palace, Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Stonehenge. I also specialise in Private Day Tours to gardens, castles, and stately homes, particularly in South East England where I live. These tours can start from London, or from your hotel in the South East of England. Popular tours include Anne Boleyn's Hever Castle, Winston Churchill's Chartwell, Leeds Castle, iconic gardens like Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Scotney, Nymans, RHS Wisley, and Kew. Additionally, I offer 'off the beaten track' tours of lesser-known gardens and manor houses, as well as the picturesque historic villages and countryside of South East England and The Cotswolds. I cater exclusively to small private groups, including families. My tours are highly customisable to fit your specific needs as part of your pre-trip planning. I aim to show you not just the main attractions but also how to navigate and explore further on your own. While walking is the best way to experience many parts of London, we can also use buses, the Underground 'Tube', riverboats, and black taxi cabs. For those with limited mobility or energy, there is a chauffeured private car tour option. For day trips out of London, travel options include train or a private chauffeured car. I am a graduate in History and Art History from the University of Cambridge, and have 5 'kids' in their thirties, 6 grandchildren, and a couple of dogs. We use Tours by Locals often and Amanda was one of the best tour guides we ever used. We used her for 3 days. Two of our three days was a tour seeing ALL the things and more we wanted to see in London on our list. See was able to accomplish this to my amazment! Also, as a Blue Badge Guide she was able to accompany us inside most places we visited which was an advantage. The way she provided the tour was engaging, fun and exceptional! There were to many highlights to mention them all. Some of the highlights included St Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Churchill War Rooms, Buckingham Palace and the Guard change and more! Choose Amanda you will not be disappointed , she was fabulous!
Amanda is awesome. She went far beyond what was expected. I would recommend Amanda to all who are traveling to London. She helped us purchase advanced entrance tickets to all venues. She arranged transport from our VRBO home, to every venue ( including a lunch at a great pub) and drop off at the days end. She is an expert in history. Her ability to bring history to life is amazing. Thank you Amanda. You made our London visit unforgettable!!!!!
A group of six booked the First Time in London Highlights tour with Amanda. Amanda was a wonderful tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about all the sights she took us to. I definitely would recommend this tour and Amanda to anyone. The tour was worth every penny we paid.
Amanda was just amazing! She took us 4 girls on a fabulous trip through London. We saw everything possible in our day with her. She was so kind to accommodate our request for the things we wanted to see and do. The driver she had for us was fantastic too! We only had the day in London, but she made sure we got all the highlights! Thank you Amanda for such priceless memories!
Amanda was excellent ! She tailored our day to our wants, paced appropriately for 2 seniors and 2 adults. She was very knowledgeable, outgoing and friendly. Would definitely use her again
Your London tour itinerary
A typical itinerary can include: visiting Westminster Abbey and seeing the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Downing Street, and Trafalgar Square, as well as the Guard Change at Buckingham or St James' Palace and mounted Horse Guards at Horse Guards Parade or riding along the Mall (Buckingham Palace Guard Change days - Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun apart from summer peak months when every day). We can take an optional (approx 10GBP per head payable to the boat company on the day) River Boat along the Thames to The Tower of London, passing riverside highlights such as the London Eye, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, St Paul's Cathedral, The Shard, and Tower Bridge. Following a tour of the Tower of London (Guiding is not permitted in the Jewel House but I will pre-guide and can normally accompany you), we can visit St Paul's Cathedral at the end of the afternoon.
