I'm Andrew, a private tour guide based in Johannesburg, and I don't believe travellers come to South Africa just to tick attractions off a list. They come to understand the people, history, culture and stories behind the places they visit. If you're looking for a private Johannesburg tour, an authentic Soweto experience, the Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Johannesburg history and heritage, an OR Tambo Airport layover tour, or a customised South African itinerary, you've found the right local guide. Johannesburg is complicated, energetic, historic and constantly changing. That's exactly why I love guiding here. My tours go beyond simply driving from one famous landmark to another. I connect the dots between Johannesburg's gold-rush beginnings, apartheid, the struggle for freedom, the Soweto uprising, Nelson Mandela's legacy and the modern South Africa you see today. In Soweto, I want you to experience more than Vilakazi Street and take photographs of famous landmarks. I want you to understand how Soweto developed, how its communities differ, why June 16, 1976 changed South African history, and what everyday life in this extraordinary part of Johannesburg looks like today. Depending on your interests, we can explore places such as the Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, Mandela House, Vilakazi Street, Orlando, Johannesburg's historic city centre and other important cultural and heritage sites. But I don't offer one-size-fits-all sightseeing. Every private tour can be adjusted around YOU. If you love history, we'll go deeper into South Africa's past. If you're interested in local culture, we'll spend more time experiencing neighbourhoods, people and everyday Johannesburg. If you have limited time between flights at OR Tambo International Airport, I can design a private Johannesburg or Soweto layover experience around your schedule. If Johannesburg is only the beginning of your South African journey, I can also help create customised experiences combining Johannesburg with wildlife and safari destinations, including private game reserves and other parts of South Africa. I have been guiding travellers professionally since 2015 and became a qualified tourist guide in 2017. Over the years, I've worked with independent travellers, couples, families, groups and visitors arriving in South Africa for holidays, business trips, sporting events, concerts and special occasions. What matters most to me is that you don't leave Johannesburg saying: "We saw Johannesburg." I want you to leave saying: "Now I understand Johannesburg." Expect a private experience, honest conversation, fascinating history, flexibility, local knowledge and plenty of opportunities to ask the questions that large group tours rarely have time to answer. Whether you have three hours, a full day or several days in South Africa, message me before booking and tell me what interests you. I'll help turn your time in Johannesburg into an experience designed around you — not around a tour bus timetable. Welcome to Johannesburg. Let's explore the city behind the headlines.

The first time I visited Manyeleti Camp is where I learned the difference between Kruger National Park vs Private Game Reserves surrounding Kruger boarders, of course, there were a lot of opinions regarding this topic, but I'll be sharing with you the difference while we are on Safari tour. In Kruger National Park, near the most popular camps, traffic congestion at prime sightings is common. So you will expect to see a lot of self-drive vehicles on the roads. It is possible to self-drive in Kruger, or you can join a guided open vehicle Safari with an experienced safari guide like myself. Meanwhile in a private game reserves like Manyeleti, you are allowed to off-road, and, get safely close to wildlife than you can imagine, time for Safari is not limited like in Kruger National Park which is managed by SANParks which is sunrise to sunset.
Day 1. (5½ hrs transfer) Johannesburg - Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, in Kruger North. The day will start by picking you up from the airport or hotel and drive to the Kruger area, upon arrival, check-in at Manyeleti Chalet. Which is located in the pristine unfenced Private Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, which borders the famous Kruger National Park. You will freshen up and start our afternoon Safari game drive. Overnight in Manyeleti. Day 2. Kruger National Morning and Afternoon Game Drive. (3 hrs) at 6am, enter the park with a Safari vehicle in search of the Big 5. Around 9 o'clock, return to the camp. End enjoy the day at leisure. At around 2pm, you will journey once again for the last safari game drive of the day in the Park. At around 7pm, return to the camp and enjoy the evening. Day 3. (5½ hrs transfer) Manyeleti Game Reserve to Johannesburg. We will check out and head to Johannesburg. This tour can be customized with a 3 Day Cape Town package.
