The Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve is a privately-owned game reserve covering 1600 hectares. With various game, this is the perfect setting for admiring nature just an hour's drive outside of Johannesburg. You can expect to view numerous species including the brown & white lion, white rhino, buffalo, wild dog, zebra, cheetah and numerous antelope species inside an open game drive vehicle. With knowledgeable tour guides the open vehicle game drive takes 2 hours and departs at various scheduled times.
Thabang was a great tour guide that answered all our questions and then some. He made sure that we got to see and feed the giraffe before we left for the day. Speaking of, we LOVED our tour of the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve! Seeing the animals in their natural habitat was amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the different animals and took his time with us.
This tour was a great and easy way to see some African wildlife, including 3 of the 5 big game - Lions, Buffalos and Rhinos. I also saw Cheetahs, Painted Dogs, Ostriches, Wildebeests, Zebras, Warthogs, Meerkats, Giraffes and heaps of different types of Antelopes. It is close to Joburg can be done in a morning if short of time like I was. And Thabang was an awesome tour guide - friendly and knowledgeable, he was very engaging and I had a great time chatting with him about South Africa, Joburg and life!
Thabang did an awesome job he was easy to talk to, fun and informative. We really enjoyed the tour and had some great viewing opportunities of cheetah's, lion's, and many other animals. We had a great time with him and would definitely book another tour with him.
I'll pick you up at your hotel/residence, drive for 1-hour to the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. Check-in and enjoy the 2 hours guided game drive in an open safari vehicle, viewing and learning about the different species on the reserve. We then drive back to your hotel/residence to end the day (1 hour). We can always customize the tour to meet your expectations.
