Hi I'm Andrew. I've been guiding in Norway for over 30 years and have been an authorized Oslo guide since 2006. Guiding is in my blood and the most enjoyable work I have done. I love walking around Oslo in my free time and feel privileged to be able to show people what I believe to be the greatest city to live in (I've been to over 75 countries and haven't found a better place). There's something in this city for everyone; world class art, significant historical sites and great nature within walking distance of downtown. I pride myself on being able to relate to and meet the interests of a wide variety of people and will happily customize your tour to meet your needs. A few words about my background. I grew up in the US and first visited Norway when hitchhiking around Europe when I was 19. Enchanted with the country, I came back to study at the University of Oslo, where I got my undergraduate degree. After graduate school in the US, I returned to Norway and taught at the law school here for over 20 years. I now have spent the majority of my adult years in Oslo and am a Norwegian citizen. If you have access to iFit, you can see 3 Oslo cultural walking tours I did for them. Authorized Oslo guide since 2006 Guide in Norway and Scandinavia since 1986 Lectured at the University of Oslo Law School for over 20 years I'm an authorized guide and can guide in all museums, except for the Munch Museum where some restrictions may apply. I would not be able to be your driver in Oslo, but I could arrange for a limo or taxi for part or all of your tour.

A full day tour that will make the most of your day in Oslo. I'll customize your itinerary to prioritize the museums and sights you want to see. This tour allows you to choose the major downtown sights, such as the Royal Palace, Norwegian Parliament, the City Hall, and the Oslo Opera House. We'll take a scenic ferry ride from the downtown harbor to Bygdøy, where we can see the Polar Ship Fram Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and the open-air Folk Museum with a stave church from the 1200's. We can also go further afield and see the Vigeland Sculpture Park. After hearing your interests and energy level, I will make a suggested itinerary that meets your needs, for either a fast-paced tour or one at a more leisurely pace. You can choose how much time you want to spend at each museum, seeing just the highlights or going more in depth. For this tour, I suggest that you get the Oslo Pass which gives free admission to all the museums we will see and includes public transport. You can buy the Oslo Pass in an App.
This a full day tour. In 8 hours, we be able to see most of the main sights and have time for a relaxed lunch. You can determine the pace of the tour and what we visit. You'll have a chance to get off your feet during lunch, a coffee/snack break and some interesting films that some of the museums show. We can start and end from any city hotel, cruise ship terminal or central point. The order of our tour will vary, but we should be able to visit between 5-6 of the following during our tour: Suggested core itinerary Oslo City Hall Oslo Opera House (outside visit) Polar Ship Fram Museum Vigeland Sculpture Park Suggested optional sights Kon-Tiki Museum Folk Museum with Stave Church Resistance Museum Nobel Peace Prize Center In addition, we can see the Royal Palace, the Parliament, House, the Akershus Fortress and the harbor area.
