Overview of your Honolulu tour
When you visit Pearl Harbor, the USS Arizona Memorial and the battleship USS Missouri, you'll not only be learning of their place in history, but you'll also be experiencing where the war began and ended: the "bookends. " To accompany us in our drive towards Pearl Harbor, I will play a pre-recorded talk for you, of a historian explaining why the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and I'll provide additional historical background myself. Once there, I will share my expert advise on how to best navigate the area to maximize your time. I'll direct you to the two main exhibits and towards the 23-minute documentary about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I'll also give you your tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial! Also on this tour, we will go to Ford Island, where we'll step onto the USS Missouri, tour the battleship and view the signed peace document. As we conclude our tour, we will stop by the Iolani Palace, the only official royal residence in the United States and the renowned King Kamehameha Statue.
Your Honolulu tour itinerary
-I'll pick you up either from your hotel, cruise ship or from the airport. -As explained on the overview, we'll listen to a lecture by a historian about the attack on Pearl Harbor as we drive towards there. -On arrival, we'll explore the Visitor's Center, which displays 2 exhibits and a documentary with live footage from the events. -Next, we'll take the Navy shuttle to the USS Arizona Memorial. -Afterwards, we'll drive to the USS Missouri Battleship on Ford Island. -We'll then drive through Punchbowl Cemetery - the Arlington of the Pacific. -We'll stop by and visit Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha Statue before start going back. -At last, we'll return to where we started from, be it your lodging. This itinerary can be customized as per request.
