Aloha! I am an avid kayaker, hiker, and snorkeler, as well as being one of the top rated guides on ToursByLocals. My family relocated to Hawai'i over 30 years ago and I am a student of Hawaiian history and culture. Most importantly, I have a passion for sharing my intimate and local knowledge of O'ahu with travelers and I pride myself on providing my guests with a unique, educational, and entertaining experience. This tour brings up to 4 travelers to the USS Arizona Memorial at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, Windward O'ahu, and Southeast Coast with a local guide well versed in the history, architecture, and culture of Hawai'i. The National Park Service program for the USS Arizona Memorial begins at Pearl Harbor Memorial Theater. The tour includes a detailed orientation, a 23-minute documentary film, and a Navy-operated shuttle boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. In addition, travelers will have the opportunity to visit the USS Bowfin Submarine & Museum. After Pearl Harbor and a lunch break, travelers will be taken on a scenic drive to the Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline (Southeast Coast), which is home to the Halona Blowhole, Makapu'u Lookout, Sandy Beach, and much more. There will be brief stops at certain locations to take photos and enjoy the island's natural wonders. Note: The itinerary is flexible and can be modified to suit the travelers' interests at any point and time.
Kirk was amazing!! He’s a wealth of knowledge and was extremely well prepared with so many different ways and sites to tell the story of Hawai’i!! The tour was fast-paced and very well planned based on the priorities we provided. Kirk made it clear that we could spend as long as we wanted anywhere, but since we had told him we wanted to see as much as possible, he kept us moving and on schedule. Kirk was absolutely the best tour guide I've ever had and I've had tours all over the world for many years. You simply couldn't do better than Kirk Hendricks. He showed us everything possible in Honolulu and the surrounding area. The four of us were very comfortable and felt very safe in his van. Kirk is unbelievably knowledgeable and humorous.
