As a Charleston native, I grew up emersed in its history and folklore. From the Revolutionary War to Gullah legends, I was amazed that such a small city could hold so many stores. Like many Charlestonians before me, I fell into the arts as a way to tell these stories. As an actor and entertainer, I have spent my life learning to find connections to others through words. As a storyteller, I strive to paint this city's tales into the minds of my listeners as vividly as possible. And as a researcher, I am committed to finding the truth behind the stories. I obsess over the details and the connective tissue between then and now. I want others to see this town the way that I do, beautiful despite its flaws, a city of living history. They call us the Holy City, welcome to Charleston! I have an extensive background in storytelling and performance. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Performance Theatre from the College of Charleston as well as a Writing Degree from the Second City in Chicago. I was a stand-up comedian for 10 years as well as an actor of stage and screen for 20+ years. I have been a fully licensed tour guide for 6 years and a Charleston native my entire life. All of the tours that I give are walking tours; a car and driver are not needed.

The story of Charleston is one that is known by many historians and locals. However, there is another backstory of the Holy City that is much less known. This is the hidden history of Native American legends and Gullah folklore, of the shadow people and shapeshifters. As we stroll through the City Market and French Quarter, you will learn why Boo Hags and Plateyes are some of Charleston's most feared creatures. Then moving further into the Historic District, we will visit the Duelist Alley, explore the history behind the Vengeful Ghost of America's 1st female serial killer, and discover the truth behind the Hidden Body of Anna Ravenel. On this tour, you will see where the infamous Doctor of the Dead once experimented and the Apothecary where the Mermaid was on display. Walk with a Charleston Native and hear tales as only a master storyteller can tell them.
-Our tour will start at the Customs House on East Bay Street, where we will discuss some Catawba and Cherokee legends that predate the city itself -From there, we will head to the Historic City Market to see how the enslaved Africans Gullah folklore inspired much of the cities culture today. -After a visit to the dark history of Philadelphia Alley, we will move on to the Circular Congregation Church graveyard to talk about some modern day myths. -Then over to old King St. , where the Doctor of the Dead once experimented. -After this, we're on to the Mermaid Apothecary. -Finally, we will visit the Four Corners of Law and the Legend of Lavinia Fisher. -Our tour will end at Washington Park, at a short walk from everything that was just covered. Please note that this itinerary can be customized upon request & according to your preferences.
