Kaixo! Hello! I'm a lucky guy born and bred in San Sebastian. I feel massively passionate about my city and I'll never lose my enthusiasm for exploring the Basque country and having the chance to share my favourite parts with you. The Basque Country is so special with it's unique food & wine scene. It's a huge part of my life with an ongoing interest & study of wines and I've been a member of one of the famous cooking societies for the last 20 years . Living here it's impossible to escape the rich culinary culture. The Great Outdoors is my other passion and as famous as San Sebastian is for the food the countryside and mountains are not to be overlooked. With a hugely unique and wide variety of hikes and trails. From coastal tracks, incredible old woodland and striking peaks. I'm extremely well travelled and have a fantastic understanding of how it is to be a tourist here and what makes a tour that extra special. Originally from a corporate background I know the right kind of professional and execute a high standard of tour on all levels. Maintaining a fun, friendly and relaxed vibe with one goal, that you have a fantastic, memorable day out. Since 2016 I have loved being a tour guide and look forward to more adventures, Hope to see you in San Sebastian very soon. Also known as "St James way" and "The Camino de Santiago" a centuries old, famous pilgrimage route. This comfortable 3-4 hour stunning hike starting from La Zurriola beach right in the city. Kick off with exciting, aerial views of San Sebastian, then continue up through ancient woodland twisting along the coastal path with unbeatable views out over the sea towards France. The carved out cliff track then winds down for you to be greeted by one of the last hidden secrets of the area "San Juan". An intriguingly, lovely little Basque town with narrow winding cobbled streets set right on the waters edge. We'll take a water taxi across the bay for an optional post hike swim and an alfresco, fresh, seafood feast in the sunshine. with all the holiday vibes.
I'll meet you at your accomodation (depending where you are we will start the hike there or drive a few minutes to Zurriola beach, where we will start the proper hike. The main path is linking San Sebastian city with San Pedro village, 8 km ( around 5miles) of up and downs through the cliffs, pine forests and amazing sandstone landscapes. There are different paths that we could take depending of your fitness so don't hesitate to let me know what are your goals. Once in San Pedro we could see San Juan right in the other side of the bay, a taxi boat will take us there in 2 minutes. This place is so especial and didn't change at all in the last 60 years, and it's a great option for grilled fish! Please let us know if you would like us to reserve a restaurant, they will organize your return to San Seb by taxi after lunch (10 minutes ride at your cost). Bring a good set of walking shoes.
