I would like to live so many key moments at different stages of time . . . . I have worked in many different fields before hospitality: been a chef assistant, baker, adventurer, planting vine, selling local gastronomic products (such as cheese, anchovy, tuna, mushrooms, . . ), driver, reception in luxury hotels, . . . I wanted to be a concierge and ended up being passionate about being a guide already some years behind. It seems that these jobs have nothing in common but if you look, all the above makes sense to form me as a guide. Architecture, History, Culture & Gastronomy! Our architecture is amazing having basque, french and english style houses, theatres, bridges, casino, parks and palaces. I will take you through the streets of San Sebastian where you will enjoy a beautiful experience full of history, photos and anecdotes. Discover the beauty of the Belle Époque architecture that can still be seen in many buildings. After that, let's start with the Pintxo hunting: (it can be just a few, depending on you) You will taste the most amazing pintxos, paired with local wines or drinks in bars chosen by me depending on your taste. You will have the best gastronomic experience, success is guaranteed! The pintxo must be enjoyed with all the senses: we look at it, we smell it, we feel the textures and then we enjoy that delicious bite on the palate, with a good glass of wine and we are in the glory! Apart from this, I'm very good at pictures so you will have a great souvenir to remember.
We had an absolute great time on this tour. Jon was a very fun tour guide and he was very knowledgeable. The pintxo tasting part of the tour was just fantastic. Jon took us to some great spots and he seemed to know everyone in the old part of the city. So much fun.
Our family had en exceptional time with Jon! Jon guided us through his Basque homeland over the course of 2 days. We ate our way through San Sebastian on the 1st day and took in the scenic landscapes. On our 2nd day with Jon, we drove through the Basque region into Bilbao. It was a gorgeous drive and the company was also great as well. Our travels also taught us a few Basque vocabulary words. We highly recommed booking your upcoming tours with Jon, he was our favorite guide!!
We spent a wonderful day with Jon touring San Sebastian. He was very fun, energetic, knowledgeable and also a great photographer. The pictures he took of our group were among the best. We especially liked the pintxos tour of the market and restaurants . All of Jon's efforts made our day in San Sebastian a great one!! We would definitely book him again.
Fantastic introduction to San Sebastián in every way. Jon expertly guided us around the sights, culture and the food. The food tour was a trip highlight. This is a must do tour. Jon's amazing contacts treated us so well. He is great fun too!
We were with Jon for three days and enjoyed all three. He is an excellent driver & speaks easy to understand English. Jon shared his passion for his city by introducing us to the best pinxtas which would be unreachable without his expertise. We tasted many different varieties. Our wine tour brought us to different wineries, each unique with its special story. We saw a great & delicious variety of styles & tastes. Also drove thru small villages and saw local markets and beautiful vistas. The best!
What a wonderful day in san Sebastian and surrounding areas. Our host and guide was informative, funny and flexible. He truly left us wanting to come back and stay in the area in the future. The trip could not have benn more personal to our group.
The best moment to do this tour is starting at 10:00 or starting at 16:00. You will pay only the food you will eat (around 40€/pax). - Driving we will discover the furthest and most stuning spots and lookout such as Mount Igeldo lookout, Comb of the wind, Miramar Royal Palace or Zurriola Beach - Get to know the old town and the romantic area: Gipuzkoa Square, Constitution Square, 31 of August street, Saint Vicent Church, Santa Maria, and other hidden corners - Pintxos lunch (local best food and riojan and local wine) while discover the old town - Apart from this, I'm very good at pictures so you will have a great souvenir to remember. Itinerary can be customized upon request.
