Medieval town of Pasaia from San Sebastian walking tour (4-5 hours)

Gontxu provided us the prefect walking tour to introduce us to his beloved hometown of Donostia. The stroll through Old Town, the hike along the bays and ocean, the beautiful nature, the discussion of local cuisine and wine - all wonderful. And the finale was our comida at Casa Camara. Langostinos and paella with Tzakoli, looking out over Pasaia. Spectacular. Highly recommend this tour!

We have spent several days with Gonxtu. He is an amazing guide. While we enjoyed seeing the cities we were most interested in hiking. He provided a great tour showing us a variety of different hiking terrain across the week. He is has a great spirit and is extremely knowledgeable about the history, the culture, as well as all the areas of the Basque Country and Rioja. Take a hike with him, or have him show you his home town of San Sebastián. You will be glad you did.

Our guide Gontxu was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and fun. We had the most memorable experience that day! We learned lots about the area and its culture. We highly recommend this walking tour. I add that there are stone steps and ups and downs over tree roots. Most walkers would not find this an issue, but Gontxu helped me navigate a number of up and down portions. For this I was very grateful.

My husband and I spent 5 days with Gontxu and he is a wonderful and caring person and a great guide. We loved the Ulia hike and it was great to experience a segment of the Camino de Santiago with him. Because we had heavy rain, he skillfully adapted the hike for us. On other days, he took us to exceptionally beautiful nature parks and beaches and charming villages. He made sure that we saw the countryside which was my goal for my travel to the Basque Country. Gontxu was a fabulous tour guide. We hired him to hike part of the Camino and the coastline. He did not disappoint. He anticipated our needs and was prepared with hiking poles if needed, snacks and was full of knowledge. We really enjoy this small part of the Camino. He put us at ease with his command of the english language and make the day a fun adventure. We felt we made a friend by the end of the day and hope to return someday soon.
