Daytrip to Bilbao & gem towns on the Basque Coast

Perfect way to hear about the history and Taste the wonderful wine and food of the region. Alex was a great tour guide - sharing his passion. He had great communication, clear on meeting place, very responsive on questions and catered our trip with what we wanted to include. It concluded with him dropping us off at our next destination. Overall a great experience

Alex is a fantastic guide - he picked us up at our apartment and we were off. Thankfully arrived into Bilbao and the rain had disappeared - He toured us the ext of the Guggenheim telling us about Bilbao - the history - the industries of the city. The timing was perfect as we then went inside and bought our tickets to the museum (note that we traveled at the start of off season) so there was no line - we were able to tour the museum at our pace and met back up with Alex. We then went on to Zumaia and Getaria. Visited the UNESCO world heritage site where you can hike or just view whichever you’re most comfortable with - Alex makes it easy. It’s gorgeous and a must see! We had lunch at Balearri - great little restaurant by the beach of Getaria - grilled fish and octopus!!! Best meal we’ve had on our entire trip - all thanks to Alex’s recommendations.

We visited Bilbao with Alex and had a really good time. He showed us around the magnificent Guggenheim Museum to get some fantastic views outside and gave us some free time on our own for an inside visit at the museum. We visited Getaria and he booked us at a popular restaurant in the area which is very busy and hard to get in just by walking in. We also visited the small town of Zumaia which has breathtaking views. We had a really wonderful day.

Alex made our trip to Bilboa hassle free. The Guggenheim was amazing and learning about the city transformation was educational. Alex then drove us to the wonderful village of Getaria where we visited a beautiful church and walked the town streets. The highlight was Alex getting us a table at Elkano which had no reservations left for the week we were there. Having the whole roasted turnout is a must. Alex was fantastic and we also did a tour to Rioja with him.

Alex is very friendly and knowledgeable and took us to some fantastic spots we wouldn't have seen on our own. We ate at a delicious restaurant and met the chef; saw some amazing beaches and stopped at a remote winery. Highly recommend !
