I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. Overview of your Madrid tour
Toledo old town was declared by Unesco a " World Heritage Site" in 1986. And this was due to the great importance of the city in the old times and the many monuments that have been preserved from different periods . The whole old town is like an open air museum. If there is a city that sums up our country's history, that one is Toledo. I love history and my goal on this tour is to share it with you in a way that would make it memorable and entertaining at the same time. Each of you are different, therefore the ability to tailor the visit to your interests will by my priority. We will travel throught the time and visit the highlights of this fascinating city. We will follow the traces of Muslims, Jewish and of course, Christians. Without forgetting "El Greco" , the painter who immortalize the city with his paintings. Join me in this extraordinary tour!
Your Madrid tour itinerary
-Meeting point at your hotel (or train station, as you wish) -Toledo train station. (photo stop). Beautiful new mudejar style building. -Panoramic tour by local taxi. (great views) -Photo stop at Belvedere or Mirador. -The Mosque of Cristo de la Luz. (getting inside). Depart of our walkig tour in TOLEDO. -The Cathedral. (getting inside, I'll explain its highlights. It is really a museum inside). -Church of Santo Tome (getting inside to see the most famous painting of El Greco: The Burial of the lord of Orgaz. No photos allowed!). -Break for lunch and /or shopping (interesting handicraft in Toledo, spaecially in this area). -Jewish Sector. Walking -The former Synagogue of Santa Maria La Blanca: getting inside. -The Royal Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. (passing by). -Local taxi to get back to Toledo train station. -Atocha train station in Madrid. The tour ends here.
