Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. After some years travelling within Europe guiding groups from Spain and America, I decided to become Local Guide of Madrid, the city that adopted me more than 26 years ago! I love Madrid. Toledo old town was declared by Unesco a " World Heritage Site" in 1986. And this was due to the great importance of the city in the old times and the many monuments that have been preserved from different periods . The whole old town is like an open air museum. If there is a city that sums up our country's history, that one is Toledo. I love history and my goal on this tour is to share it with you in a way that would make it memorable and entertaining at the same time. Each of you are different, therefore the ability to tailor the visit to your interests will by my priority. We will travel throught the time and visit the highlights of this fascinating city. We will follow the traces of Muslims, Jewish and of course, Christians. Without forgetting "El Greco" , the painter who immortalize the city with his paintings. Join me in this extraordinary tour!
We enjoyed our trip to Toledo with Mariluz. She picked us up at our hotel and took us to the train station. I am glad she did because the train station was massive and we would be so lost. Mariluz was detailed, punctual and informative the whole trip giving us historical perspective of the town & explained to us the architectural significance. Great lesson for us in understanding about Toledo. Highly recommend her especially if you want to know about this area of Spain.

Mariluz guided us for a second day, this time to Toledo and was, once again, excellent. The history, culture, religion, people all became real and extraordinary. (great views) -Photo stop at Belvedere or Mirador. -The Mosque of Cristo de la Luz. (getting inside). Depart of our walkig tour in TOLEDO. -The Cathedral. (getting inside, I'll explain its highlights. It is really a museum inside). -Church of Santo Tome (getting inside to see the most famous painting of El Greco: The Burial of the lord of Orgaz. No photos allowed!). -Break for lunch and /or shopping (interesting handicraft in Toledo, spaecially in this area). -Jewish Sector. Walking -The former Synagogue of Santa Maria La Blanca: getting inside. -The Royal Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. (passing by). -Local taxi to get back to Toledo train station. -Atocha train station in Madrid. The tour ends here.
