Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. I am happy to say that I have done over 500 tours only with ToursByLocals during the last 9 years. This hasn't been my only job ever, I have been teaching languages since. . . always, as this is the family business, and I got to know the tourism industry since I was very young as it was my early passion. Overview of your Madrid tour
Isabel was crowned Queen of the Kingdom of Castile in this city. That was a turning point in the history of not just Spain. The castle was one of the favorite residences of the Royalty. The symbol of the city is the best-kept aqueduct of the Roman Empire. Nearly 2000 years old. Did you know that it brought water to the city till 100 years ago? Let's top it off with some lunch in one of the wonderful restaurants which are to Segovia what Haute Couture to France. Get in touch if you want me to customize the tour for you.
Your Madrid tour itinerary
During this tour we will have the chance to visit: - the medieval Alcazar (palace or fortress in Spanish Arabic) which was built in different fazes from the 12th century on, and go back into time. - The beautiful spires (that remind us to the Walt Disney castle) were added on the 16th century. - Then we could enjoy a coffee at the beautiful terrace with view by the castle or we will continue our tour through the maze of streets of the city in order to discover the medieval architectures of its churches on our way to the Cathedral. I will suggest to eat some suckling pig, the speciality of the region.
