Overview of your Madrid tour
Segovia is located only 95 kilometres / 59 miles north of Madrid, in Castilla y Leon Region. By car it takes only 1h 15' from Madrid and the drive runs through beautiful landscapes across Guadarrama Mountains. The city of Segovia is World Heritage by UNESCO due to its Cultural Heritage. A walk in Segovia is a walk in Roman and Medieval Spain, visiting its most remarkable monuments. One of them is the fabulous Medieval Castle know as The Alcazar, a fortress in a canyon that was the residence of the kings of Castille. Other of its stunning monuments is the Aqueduct, built by the romans in the 1st century and perfectly preserved still nowadays. The city is a small jewel in which is a pleasure discover The Jewish Quarter, the cobblestone streets, its pretty Romanesque churches and its secret corners. Segovia is also very well known because of its gastronomy being the traditional dish the suckling pig. But there are many other options in the local gastronomy as well as very nice wines and desserts.
Your Madrid tour itinerary
- We will pick you up at your hotel in Madrid and we will drive to Segovia. - Once there we will start with a panoramic sightseeing of the city and we will make an stop to enjoy the views and take some pictures. - Afterwards we will have a walk in the city visiting The Alcazar, the medieval section, The Jewish Quarter, Plaza Mayor, The Walls and The Roman Aqueduct. - During the walk we will have time for a break for lunch or for a drink and a snack. - Return to Madrid and transfer to your hotel The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
