Private visit to Segovia. A daytrip from Madrid (7 h)

Our guide, Marta, was fantastic. I was recommended her by a friend and I was so glad we were able to use her. Very knowledgeable. Very patient. Very pleasant. We couldn’t ask for more in a tour guide. Our driver was very professional. His Mercedes van was very clean and comfortable. The two of them made a great team and we will contact them for future tours.

Guillermo and Marta were prompt. He had plenty of bottled water in his vehicle for us. He was a safe, methodical driver. She was prepared with coins for the public restroom when we arrived in Segovia. We had a lovely walking tour with Marta. The only structure that we toured inside was the Alcazar. Her English is great. She kindly suggested that the driver drop us off with her by Casa del Libro when I mentioned that I was striking out at Madrid's book stores for English translations of Spanish literature.

To truly enjoy what Segovia has to offer a tour guide needs to be an archaeologist, a historian and a very effective communicator. Marta is all three in one. Instead of perfunctory commentary she went into depth in explaining the whys and the hows which made the visit a very good learning experience. As a trained archaeologist Marta pointed out things that an uninformed guide would miss. The highlight of the tour was the aqueduct and the "Devil". Family and friends think "the picture" is too cool.

Marta is a real gem. The tour was fantastic. Can't wait to get back to Madrid to take another of her tours! Thank you Marta!

On our 2nd day with Marta (see previous review) we chose to see Segovia alcazar, Cathedral, and outstanding Aquaduct, walked through the town. On both days with Marta she showed us touristy spots as well as hidden gems. We had a wonderful lunch in El Escorial before Monastery at Cava Alta Fusion. It was a marvelous day, highly recommend Marta!
