¡Hola! Welcome to Madrid! My name is Leonor. I am a professional licensed tour guide who never gets bored exploring the city that I love. I was born in Madrid, but I grew up in Córdoba. I studied in Madrid: I got first the degree in Tourism, and some years later I got the degree in German Philology (UCM University Complutense in Madrid). I worked as a tour leader travelling with groups during five years, but then I realized that I wanted to live in Madrid and work in this fantastic city. Guiding individual clients/groups is my full time job, and I have worked as a local guide since 1999. I love art, history, meeting people from other countries and showing them my city. I like travelling very much and I appreciate how important a guide can be for visitors. My aim as your guide is to help you to have a pleasant and unforgettable time in Madrid. You will not get bored. Madrid is a fascinating city that has so many things to do, see, offer and explore. . . When you come, you will discover them! Licensed Madrid Tour Guide nº 55 Licensed Toledo Tour Guide nº CLM/205-P Licensed Guide for the National Heritage Sites (Royal Palace of Madrid, Monastery of Escorial...) nº 509 Member of APIT ( Guides' Association of Madrid) Degree in German Philology, UCM (University Complutense Madrid) I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Why Toledo? It's not far away from Madrid (70 km), and the roots of Spain are there. It's the capital of La Mancha region, scene of the adventures and misfortunes of Don Quixote (the man of La Mancha). Toledo is pure art and history: from the foundations of any building to its highest stone. Located at the top of a hill and surrounded by the longest river in the Iberian peninsula, Toledo has been a melting pot of cultures and civilizations: Romans, Visigoths, Jewish, Muslims. . . Walking along its narrow, twisted, cobbledstreets will make us go back in history. The two most outstanding buildings (Cathedral & Alcázar) evoke both the importance of the catholic faith and the military events in our history. Besides, Toledo seems to be like a Sleeping Beauty that has inspired painters and writers. . . "Pasé una noche toledana" (I had a Toledan night!), this Spanish saying means that someone had a bad night because he couldn't sleep at all! What I propose you instead is to spend a very pleasant "día toledano"
- We will go from Madrid to Toledo by fast train (30min) - Once in Toledo we will take a taxi to go to a view point from where we will have the best view of the city (photo stop). And then, we will continue by taxi towards the city center. - We will do the tour on foot (remember to wear comfortable shoes!). Walking is the best way of exploring this medieval city that looks like a maze with its tiny, narrow, twisted, cobblestone streets. - Toledo highlights visit: The Cathedral (on Sundays it opens at 14:00), the masterpiece by El Greco "The burial of the lord of Orgaz " (in Santo Tomé), and the oldest synagogue "Santa María la Blanca". - Break for lunch. If you are sweet-toothed you can also "savor" Toledo tasting its delicious marzipan. - In the afternoon we will take the fast train back to Madrid (30min) The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
