¡Hola! Welcome to Madrid! My name is Leonor. I am a professional licensed tour guide who never gets bored exploring the city that I love. I was born in Madrid, but I grew up in Córdoba. I studied in Madrid: I got first the degree in Tourism, and some years later I got the degree in German Philology (UCM University Complutense in Madrid). I worked as a tour leader travelling with groups during five years, but then I realized that I wanted to live in Madrid and work in this fantastic city. Guiding individual clients/groups is my full time job, and I have worked as a local guide since 1999. I love art, history, meeting people from other countries and showing them my city. Are you going to spend just one day in Madrid? Do you wish to see all its main attractions? Join me and I'll take you to the right places! We'll start visiting the biggest palace in western Europe. The Royal Palace is the official residence of the royal family. Placed on a hill, it occupies a corner of Madrid steeped in history: Magerit (old name for Madrid) was founded there. I love history and my study of it never ends. Then, we'll wander along the charming narrow streets of the old city, the most traditional area in Madrid. We'll cross the emblematic Puerta del Sol (the city's heart), one of the most famous squares, social meeting point for us, the "madrileños": I can't wait to show you my home city! In the end we'll finish the tour at the Prado Museum, one of the best art galleries in the world. Allow me to share with you my passion for paintings! We'll concentrate on the masterpieces. I'll make sure that you will want to come back! I'll be happy to spend the day with you!
Your Madrid tour itinerary
- Royal Palace (guided tour inside). Whenever official events take place at the Royal Palace, it will remain closed to visitors. I will let you know if that happens. In that case, I will give you other options. - Then, we'll go for a walk in the old city: *Villa square *Mayor square *Puerta del Sol square. . . We'll take a break there to drink or eat something (snack, "tapas" or the famous sandwich of fried squids -the speciality of Madrid) - Prado Museum (guided tour inside). We'll focus the tour on the masterpieces: El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Bosch, Van der Weyden, Rubens, Titian, Tintoretto, Rafael. . . The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
