¡Hola! Welcome to Madrid! My name is Leonor. I am a professional licensed tour guide who never gets bored exploring the city that I love. I was born in Madrid, but I grew up in Córdoba. I studied in Madrid: I got first the degree in Tourism, and some years later I got the degree in German Philology (UCM University Complutense in Madrid). I worked as a tour leader travelling with groups during five years, but then I realized that I wanted to live in Madrid and work in this fantastic city. Guiding individual clients/groups is my full time job, and I have worked as a local guide since 1999. I love art, history, meeting people from other countries and showing them my city. I like travelling very much and I appreciate how important a guide can be for visitors. My aim as your guide is to help you to have a pleasant and unforgettable time in Madrid. You will not get bored. Madrid is a fascinating city that has so many things to do, see, offer and explore. . . When you come, you will discover them! Licensed Madrid Tour Guide nº 55 Licensed Toledo Tour Guide nº CLM/205-P Licensed Guide for the National Heritage Sites (Royal Palace of Madrid, Monastery of Escorial...) nº 509 Member of APIT ( Guides' Association of Madrid) Degree in German Philology, UCM (University Complutense Madrid) I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Are you an art lover? If so, this is the right tour for you! Prado (name of the most outstanding painting gallery in Spain) means "meadow". El Prado used to be an area of orchards and meadows to go for a stroll, and today is an Art Walk. Retiro (name of the most famous park in Madrid) means "retreat". In the past this park was the private garden of the palace where the Spanish kings retired to rest. Just like other big European museums (Louvre, Uffizi), the Prado has its origin in the hobby of collecting that the Spanish kings have had along the centuries. In the most important painting, there is a young Spanish princess waiting for you to know about her sad story. After Prado, we will head for the historical park. It's the city's lung. It belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until 1868, when it became a public park. It is one of my favourite spots in the city. It reminds me of my childhood because my parents used to take me here to watch the animals when the zoo was located inside the park!
- Prado Museum We will focus our visit on the masterpieces: El Greco, Velázquez , Goya, Bosch, Van der Weyden, Rubens, Titian, Rafael, Tintoretto. . . - Then, we will go to Retiro park. We' ll stroll there and see the main spots: *"Parterre", beautiful gardens built in French style. It's also there the only tree left in the park after the Peninsular War (against the French). During that war the park was totally destroyed. *"Crystal Palace", a glass pavilion built as a greenhouse, and today used for temporary exhibitions. *"Pond", small lake with the magnificent statue to King Alfonso XII The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
