Welcome to all, I am native from Madrid, born in Manresa, family from Asturias, northern Spain and raised in Madrid, since early age I was interested in the arts and history of my city and my country. As time went by I started specializing in the culture of my beloved Madrid where I have been guiding for almost 10 years now! I have special interest in nineteenth century history and Spanish art and I am a great fan of Francisco de Goya, one of the masters one can find in Madrid. As a professional and as the local who grew up in Madrid, I can vouch that neither as an art center no as a social hot spot Madrid would ever let you down. The tour aims to show you Spanish art, in different history periods, trough some of the more unknown but at same time, best technical art works. From the magnificent drawing technics of Ribera to Greco's mysticism to the subtile Herrera el Mozo compositions. Of course on the way, Tiziano, Rubens and other many great artists in this "different perspective of art" tour that I like to convey Let's discover them together at the Prado! I am an art historian and I have been involved in studying art for many years now, and still do, I am passionate about the subject and I love to run my tours in a dynamic way, fun and easy to follow, turning my tours more into an active interaction between traveler and guide. Enrique is very knowledgeable, excited and passionate about Art. He provided insight and background of many artists. Their works and the theory explanation created a different perspective allowing us to see the various meanings throughout the ages. Enrique captivated the feeling of living through the artist’s eyes. We could spend the entire day just listening to him.
Excellent tour with Enrique! Thorough overview of art history and important influences leading up to the Spanish masters. Enrique gave us a tremendous amount of information in an interesting and entertaining way. The Del Prado is an immense collection, but he was able to present a manageable amount in our 3 hours together. The use of audio sets that Enrique brought was very helpful for our group of six. Highly recommend!
Our Prado tour with Enrique made our visit to Madrid one of the best on our 2 month European journey! Enrique's background and degree in Art History makes for a truly awesome Prado experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Prado Museum with Enrique G. He is personable, knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about art. We learned so much. It is the only way to visit the Prado for us. We learned about the progression of art and technique over time, learned to look at paintings with a different view and had all of our questions answered. 3 hours is hardly enough time to learn about the Prado but we did get a wonderful introduction.
Enrique was terrific for the tour for 5 of us. He is so knowledgable about art history and the context for these highlights and such a pleasant, optimistic, upbeat person. Just great!
-Hotel Pick up -Gentle walk on our way to the museum, in this walk will make an introduction of the area to reach the museum -Access trough Goya's gate, will will explore the main corridor to find our shelfs in position, to go for a quick introduction of whats happening on earlier days to reach Goya's rooms, and then go to the next step after him, to understand the development of the art school. -As we go trough nineteenth century rooms, we will observe from big format to small format paintings, oils, water colours, landscapes, history themas or social ones! -Most likely we will go back in time at the end, to take a look at some of the Flamenco artists such as Bosch -Then you will have your own time, to keep admiring one of the best galleries in the World. .
