Hi! I am Amalia, fully licensed professional guide of Madrid and surroundings, with a license for National Trust Sites. I was born in Bilbao (Basque Country) and was adopted by the city of Madrid 24 years ago. Since I was a little girl I always wanted to see the world, explore new places, eat different things, get to know people and all that led me to make a living out of my passion. From my own personal and working experience traveling I like unique experiences at a pace. In my tours you will learn not only about Spanish History, Art or traditions but also useful insider's tips about Madrid lifestyle, from classical landmarks to new hot-spots. In Madrid there is always something for everyone if you are willing to learn and explore. If you are a museum lover, a foodie or you are looking for a bike tour, I can offer tailored tours for you and your family. If you are staying a little bit longer and want to see the Sephardic sites, its splendorous Cathedral or a 10th Century Mosque, we can enjoy a day out in Toledo (Unesco site). Escorial, Segovia or Avila are also very interesting day trips to be organized from Madrid (Unesco sites). Go for it!! Let me be your host while in Madrid!! Licensed Guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila & Segovia Licensed Guide of National Trust Sites I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

A unique and private tour for you, perfect to get a good overview of the rich historical background of Madrid and experience local life. We'll go from our monarchs ups, downs and tribulations to the changes of our emblematic Plaza Mayor through the times. Our visit starts in the Royal Palace, since it is here where Madrid was born back in the 9th century and where once a Muslim Fortress stood. It'll leave you wordless as me every time! Nowadays, the Palace stills lively since is used for state ceremonies and public receptions. At a good pace, we will explore the old town, so-known as Habsburg's Madrid, the oldest and my favourite city spot: with the famous Plaza Mayo, Old Town Hall, narrow streets and lively Madrileños. It is a perfect chance to stop for the best pictures while I share with you my knowledge about the city origins and the love for this city that adopted me 30 years ago. I'll explain all about this magic town!
Royal Palace - inside tour, history, origins (priority entrance) Oriental Square & Opera - panoramic view, photo stop Cathedral - outside view, history, photo stop Plaza de la Villa - square with the old town hall, photo stop La Cebada or St. Miguel Market - local market (if open) Plaza Mayor - history, panoramic view, photo stop The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized experience.
