¡Hola! Welcome to Madrid! My name is Leonor. I am a professional licensed tour guide who never gets bored exploring the city that I love. I was born in Madrid, but I grew up in Córdoba. I studied in Madrid: I got first the degree in Tourism, and some years later I got the degree in German Philology (UCM University Complutense in Madrid). I worked as a tour leader travelling with groups during five years, but then I realized that I wanted to live in Madrid and work in this fantastic city. Guiding individual clients/groups is my full time job, and I have worked as a local guide since 1999. I love art, history, meeting people from other countries and showing them my city. I like travelling very much and I appreciate how important a guide can be for visitors. My aim as your guide is to help you to have a pleasant and unforgettable time in Madrid. You will not get bored. Madrid is a fascinating city that has so many things to do, see, offer and explore. . . When you come, you will discover them! Licensed Madrid Tour Guide nº 55 Licensed Toledo Tour Guide nº CLM/205-P Licensed Guide for the National Heritage Sites (Royal Palace of Madrid, Monastery of Escorial...) nº 509 Member of APIT ( Guides' Association of Madrid) Degree in German Philology, UCM (University Complutense Madrid) I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

What makes Madrid such an appealing city? Good food and weather? Culture? Amazing nightlife? Due to the pleasant weather that we enjoy, a good option is to stroll along the traditional streets with a passionate local to discover it! The Habsburgs's district is the historical quarter par excellance. It keeps almost the totality of its original layout with narrow and twisted streets that have had very few modifications. The literary quarter is its natural and historical extension. It refers to the past Spanish literary Golden century, when the most famous writers lived there. It's a charming and lively district , with typical bars, theatres and design shops! Crossing down towards Paseo del Prado, we encounter another Madrid, more modern, but also historical. From the 18th century "the Madrid of Bourbons" was embellished with statues and imposing buildings. It became the Art Walk and today that area is since July 2021 World Heritage. Which one will be your favourite? Mine is. . . join me & I'll tell you!
Among other places, we will not miss visiting from outside: - Orient Square: Opera House - Royal Palace - Cathedral - Villa Square: Old Town Hall - St Miguel Market: gourmet "tapas" market - Mayor Square - Sun Gate Square: meeting point for the "madrileños; welcome to km 0 of Spain!; it is our Times Square, where every 31st of Dec with 12 grapes, we say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one - Santa Ana Square - Huertas Street - Lope de Vega Street: Miguel de Cervantes, author of "Don Quijote de la Mancha", the most important book of our literature, is buried in a convent of this street. - Prado Museum - Neptune's Fountain - Loyalty Square: War Memorial - Cibeles' Fountain: one of the symbols of Madrid; meeting point for Real Madrid's supporters whenever the soccer team wins an important title! - Alcalá Gate: ¡mírala, mírala! these words from a very famous song come to us when we see this gate The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
